THE MODERATOR: Stefanos, obviously not the result you were looking for tonight. What did you think worked against you in the match? Did you feel that there was something that wasn't working for you, or something that wasn't coming together in your game today? Or do you just feel like the opponent was able to raise his level.

STEFANOS TSITSIPAS: The opponent played really well. He showed good level of tennis. At certain points of the match, close moments, he was just better than me.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Did you feel like you had him in that second set tiebreak, obviously 4-1, 4-2, and he just handled those bigger points better, because I think a lot of it was on your racquet.

STEFANOS TSITSIPAS: Yeah, I did come up with a dropshot there, I think at 4-2 or 3-2, it was quite a poor dropshot. I would have liked to put it on the court at least, it dipped into the net. That was not a great play from my side on that particular shot. I should have done something different. So I'm going to try and think about that next time.

But otherwise it was just a close match. I felt like the momentum was shifting a little bit there, because I was on the offensive, sort of on an offensive mindset in that rally. I was going for my shots, ended up playing a dropshot that was not that great, and I feel like I got him back into the match. That shot could have changed the scoreline a little bit. It didn't exactly work the way I was expecting it to in that moment.

Q. It's really fine margins when you're talking two tiebreaks. But after what you did in the United Cup, are you happy, not happy about tonight, but are you happy with the way you're progressing in this summer?

STEFANOS TSITSIPAS: I am playing good tennis. I won't let a result like this define the beginning of my year. I'm just focused on big goals, and I want to accomplish great things this year. It all depends on me, how much I'm going to work on the court and the consistency that I'm going to show every single day. I have a long year, and I'm looking forward on getting it started in the best possible way.

Q. Just lastly, in terms of those goals for the year, is that with the slams, you want to just get back to where you were sort of a couple of years ago at contending at all the slams?

STEFANOS TSITSIPAS: That's right. That's my goal. Playing good on slams, having deep runs, feeling my game, and showing that I still got it. This is exactly it.
