ANSON CABELLO: Obviously a much better round today. I had it going there for a bit on the front nine and kind of slowed down on the back nine. Started missing fairways; putter kind of cooled down.

Overall it was a much better day today. I was much more in control of my game than yesterday.

Part of that came down to me being a lot more comfortable out there and, yeah, just a blast.

Q. Yeah, two bogeys right out of the gate. How proud were you to come back and fight back with the birdies over the rest the front nine?

ANSON CABELLO: I'm not going to lie, after those first two holes I thought I was going to shoot 80. I mean, to come back and start making solid swings down the stretch, it was big. Yesterday that kind of happened and just couldn't get anything going.

After that start and the way I finished, couldn't be more proud of myself.

Q. A lot of people struggled today with the windy conditions. What was it like for you out there?

ANSON CABELLO: I mean, shoot, maybe it should have been like this yesterday and I would've made the cut. No, I mean, yeah, it's just -- I was just comfortable out there more so today than I was yesterday.

I know that sounds super weird, but I couldn't explain it myself.

But, yeah, it's just the shotmaking today was there and just committing to the putts. I know, just everything today was a lot more dialed in then yesterday.

Q. How much did it mean to play in the Sony Open this week?

ANSON CABELLO: It was so cool. This week didn't turn out the way I had hoped but the whole experience with my caddie, my teammate, that was big.

Just being able to experience this kind of event just means the world because there aren't that many opportunities for me to do this. At least not right now. Hopefully more in the future.

But if this event comes back I would love to play in it again.

Q. What was the support like that you got from the fans?

ANSON CABELLO: It was amazing. You know, they were out there yesterday when I didn't play very good, and to see them out here today just meant the world me.

Q. What's your next month or two look like?

ANSON CABELLO: Well, I'm supposed to be playing in a bunch of college events but I think after this I'm going to take some time off. I hurt my back probably a month ago. This week it was not close to where I hoped it would be, so at least for the next two weeks just going to be not touching the clubs and hopefully I can make -- hopefully I can make my spring season debut with our school sooner than later.
