THE MODERATOR: Kevin, completely different day out there today with the wind. Just get some comments on what it was like.

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, it was hard for sure. Felt like when you get wind like that doesn't really feel like it's in the same direction. It's just blowing everywhere seems like.

I tried to do a really good job at just trying to plot myself around the course. I don't think I hit many greens but my short game kind of saved me today. It was hard, but we got it done.

Q. More of the same looks like this weekend. Just your mindset currently tied for the lead.

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, same thing. Been driving it really nice. Hopefully keep putting myself in the fairways and try to hit a few more greens and take a little bit of off me. Yeah, looking forward to the weekend. Yeah, should be fun.

Q. You're playing great. I was doing a little research on your dad when he played here. It was the same year one of the most famous shots, the most famous shot ever in this tournament, Isao Aoki. He ever talk to you about that?

KEVIN ROY: No. I haven't really talked to my dad too much about it. I got to be honest, I didn't even know he played in the tournament. I know he played on TOUR, but, I mean, yeah, now that I think about it I know he played in Hawai'i; I just didn't know where.

Yeah, to be honest with you haven't heard too much about that.

Q. Does he still caddie for you at times?

KEVIN ROY: Not too much anymore. He's more of just one of my biggest fans. He'll come out probably a handful of times this year. We live a mile from each other back home in Florida so we play a ton of golf together still.

Yeah, my caddie JP, he's been doing really well.

Q. Is it more fun or more stress when it's a packed leaderboard like this at the top?

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, you know, I got to be honest, I haven't had too much experience. I was in contention a few times last year, but it's -- I know the weekend is going to play hard with the wind so I think it's just we're going to stick to our game plan, go out there and try to hit a lot of fairways and greens, and see where we end up.
