THE MODERATOR: Congratulations on the win tonight, guys. What was clicking so well?
CAMERON YOUNG: Everything seemed to be kind of that second, two-thirds of the match that we got off to a slow start, but after that, everybody started hitting some really good shots and we were able to rattle off a bunch of good holes in a row.
Q. For Matt, there isn't a single player in TGL that hits it lower on average in terms of apex than you. You didn't hit the tee shot on Stinger in match No. 1. Was that something you asked for tonight? Do you think you're comfortable hitting that shot moving forward?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, I'm very comfortable hitting that shot. I think we looked at the other holes as a whole and felt that the order on the first week was the right order. But yeah, this seem was the same thing. That's what we do every week.
Yeah, I've always been comfortable hitting it really low. I struggle to hit it high. Had really good practice this morning hitting shots on the hole and getting used to it and came up with a really good strategy, and I was happy to execute it tonight.
Q. For Rick, some changes from season 1 to season 2. What's the biggest thing you've noticed from being out here in your first match this year?
RICKIE FOWLER: I think they did a good job of kind of learning from the design in season 1, making it, I'd say, a little bit more friendly around the green, obviously making it bigger. It's more viewer friendly. Before the green sat up a little bit more and you had the big knob there.
I think everyone is trying to learn and ultimately how do we make the viewing here better. Hopefully we continue to play well and not play like our first few holes and we can make it entertaining.
I think that's the biggest thing is they've continued to make things better and be open to change.
Q. I am curious on hole 8, the Stinger hole, when the match was tied at 3, you guys did throw the hammer. Given where Jupiter had chipped from, what made you decide to throw the hammer then, and how do you feel you guys' use and knowledge of when to throw the hammer has progressed over these couple seasons?
CAMERON YOUNG: I think I hit the wedge after your tee shot to seven or eight feet and just felt like even if they hit -- even if Akshay chips it to a foot and we have to concede a par, it's still better than 50/50 chance that Rick is going to make that putt. It's a relatively simple putt for him.
When we feel like it's more than 50/50, he's going to make it. Our expected points are more than one. So I feel like it's just a good chance to throw the hammer there.
RICKIE FOWLER: I think some of it, too, was not necessarily trying to go in and get two points out of it. It was more so getting ourselves in a position where we're able to get up and be ahead in the match, so if there were some situations where we could potentially get them to drop -- it seemed like there was a couple spots where they might be able to take it, but worst case it guaranteed us a point and we could move forward and kind of build that little bit of lead.
Q. You guys have six weeks off until your next match. What will you guys be doing in the meantime in order to --
MATT FITZPATRICK: How many weeks?
Q. Six weeks off before your next match.
RICKIE FOWLER: I have four tournaments, I think. I'll be playing.
MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, me too.
CAMERON YOUNG: Same for me.
Q. Rickie, how did it feel to see Tiger Woods back out tonight, because I notice when you walked up to him he gave you a big bear hug?
RICKIE FOWLER: Yeah, we're good buddies. It's been fun to get to know Tiger more and more, definitely over the last 15 years. Yeah, he's a good friend, and to have him here hopefully helped us maybe boost some ratings that wasn't going to come from us just playing. That helps us, him showing up. I thought that was cool for him to be out and be a part of it. It's just different when he's around.
He's still obviously the biggest needle mover in the sport. No one is going to argue that. So yeah, it was fun to have him around tonight.
Q. Just a question for Cam. You look so comfortable in here. You've been hitting such great iron shots. Obviously you got the win last year, the Ryder Cup experience. What's your confidence like in your game heading into 2026?
CAMERON YOUNG: It's high. I feel like I'm in a good place. Like you said, I've kind of ticked some career boxes over the course of the last six, seven months, and to me it's really just a matter of building on all of the proof that I had before that my good golf is good enough to do all the things that I want to do in the game of golf.
Yeah, so I'm really excited to get the season started and kind of hope to continue some of the momentum that I had the end of last season.
Q. Rickie, just wondering, have you been able to speak to Brooks, and either way, what do you make of the news that we got yesterday about him coming back?
RICKIE FOWLER: I think it's great. I feel like Brooks has been in a position, he's wanted to be back playing with us for quite a while, so I'm very happy that we're back in the position where we're at now.
I think the guys that were involved on the board level and the players that are involved, I think they did a great job of figuring out how do we make this happen and making it feel like -- obviously we want him back and it not to feel like it was a closed door. I know he's excited. I saw him actually as I was on the PAC call receiving the news that everything was going through and what was going to happen. So yeah, I think there's a lot of people that are excited about it.
