THE MODERATOR: What do you all think of Perth so far? Are you excited to kick off your season tomorrow?

MARCO TRUNGELLITI: So, yeah, we're very exciting, of course, of kicking off the season. Especially him, because he's going to be the first one (smiling).

It's a little early for us, because it's starting at 10. We got to go to try to sleep early tonight and getting ready for tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow also, because we have the two matches in a row.

Yeah, just wishing the best to the guys that are going to play. Hopefully not me (smiling). Yeah, looking forward, of course.

THE MODERATOR: We'll open it up for questions.

Q. Sebastian, your decision to start the year at United Cup, a team event, as opposed to a regular tournament, what made you choose United Cup?

SEBASTIAN BAEZ: It's a big chance for me in my chase to start to compete early I can because I had some problems all the year with physical treatments and everything. So I want to start to play, of course represent my country, with these people, of course with my team, on this amazing tournament.

Of course I will do my best on the matches I have to play or also supporting all the team. I just try to do my best in the matches and the practice, too, because in this tournament, we are preparing the Australian Open, also. We are all doing all the best.

Happy to start here in this year 2026.

Q. You have two tough singles matches ahead of you against Fritz and Munar. Do you think that will tell you where your game is at early in the season?

SEBASTIAN BAEZ: Yeah, every match here is tough. All the countries are too strong in men's, woman's. We are confidence. I am confidence to win my game with all the preparation for these matches, for all the tournaments.

Yeah, I will do my best. I don't know the result tomorrow. We will see, of course.

Q. What are you hoping to get out of the week? Do you think we'll see you on the mixed doubles court?

GUIDO ANDREOZZI: Well, for me I think it's a different format. Fun tournament. The main thing for me personally is, like, a preparation for Melbourne especially.

I think it will be my first mixed doubles, so I don't know how it's going to be, but I'm looking forward to it. Looking forward to spend the week with the team, have a good time and, yeah, good preparation.

Q. Solana, in 2025 you had a pretty strong year, current rank of 66. How do you hope to carry that momentum into 2026?

SOLANA SIERRA: Yes, I think it was a great year for me. I did a lot of good results that I wanted. Yeah, it was really great. I'm really excited to start the year here. I think it's a really good preparation. Yeah, it's really nice tournament.

Q. Talking about your singles matches here, you'll get to face Coco and Jessica. What do you think of them as opponents?

SOLANA SIERRA: Yeah, I think it's going to be tough matches. They are top players, but I like these matches. I think it's good to see the level. So yeah, it's going to be a good for me.

Q. Talking about playing and representing Argentina in the United Cup, what excites you about this event? What are you hoping to get out of week here?

MARIA LOURDES CARLE: For me it's really fun. This is my third time playing United Cup. I find it really good competition, especially to be around teammates and to be around this team. For me is a competition that I always really looking forward.

Yeah, I enjoy it a lot. I like Perth. So yeah, we'll see. Yeah, I'm happy to be here sharing with the team.

NICOLE FOSSA HUERGO: Yeah, also for me it's very exciting. It's the first time in Perth, so it's nice. Very happy to be here with the team and share this moment.

It's the first time I am in this event, so it's nice to be around all the players that are preparing and see, like, a different type of competition.

Q. Solana, you're playing in Melbourne in your first AO main draw. Heading into Melbourne, what are you hoping to get out of the entire Australian swing as a whole?

SOLANA SIERRA: Yes, like you say, it's first time I am playing in main draw. It's first experience for me, all new. But yeah, super happy. I will try my best on every tournament.

Q. Sebastian, as captain, how do you see your team's chances this week?

SEBASTIAN GUTIERREZ: Yeah, for me first it's a big privilege to be here. It's my first time in Perth. I think going to be better after this week. This is the most important thing for me in every week, in every moment, sharing this week with these guys.

Maybe we are ready for tomorrow to do a big battle with Spain.
