THE MODERATOR: Congratulations, Team Argentina. Can you talk about how good it feels to start off your United Cup campaign winning three points.
MARCO TRUNGELLITI: Yeah, we're very happy, of course. It's result that we were really looking for yesterday. Obviously was a very tough match because both of our singles matches were played against players that were better ranked, like Baez against Munar, also Solana against Bouzas. I think both of them, they play a very, very good match.
Of course, the cherry of the cake was the mixed doubles. It was a very tough first set. A few set points, at least one. Second set was really, really good. I think we're all happy with the level.
Q. Sebastian, what kind of input and advice did you give to the players today?
SEBASTIAN GUTIERREZ: Just to be focused for the next match. (Indiscernible) this day, but tomorrow is the match, and just have to be focus.
Q. Sebastian, after a tough end to 2025, personally how important was it for you to get such a strong win to begin this season?
SEBASTIAN BAEZ: Well, so important because I felt so comfortable today, with more confidence on my game, on my volley also. Of course, with my tennis, but the tennis is on the second mind. I am trying to be focused on the preparation, on the physical training of course, the tactical games and everything.
I happy to give my point to Argentina, and happy to share with these guys because they took everything they have and give it 100% on the court. Happy for Argentina and happy to have the chance to play tomorrow.
Q. A quick turnaround, playing Taylor Fritz tomorrow. What are your thoughts going into that match? Anything different you might do against Taylor to try to get the first win against him?
SEBASTIAN BAEZ: I'm thinking about today. I have many, many things to improve from my game. Today I have many good things, and other ones I have to be going to be better. I happy with that. Tomorrow will be another day for me and for my partners.
Q. Solana, as you look at the first match, how important was it for you to start the year on the right foot?
SOLANA SIERRA: Yes, really good, really important. I feel really good on the court. I think I played a really great match. I did a great pre-season also, so I was really looking forward to start good.
Yeah, it was a really good match, tough. But I feel good.
Q. Talking about the transition from the second to the third set, what do you tell yourself to regroup especially when you had a significant lead?
SOLANA SIERRA: Yes, I was doing good. In the 5-2 I think I wasn't playing too good. I'm proud that I'll keep going and I did a comeback. Yeah, I finish really good in the third set.
Q. Were there any adjustments technically or tactically with your game, based on how Jessica was playing?
SOLANA SIERRA: Yeah, I think tactically I change because in the 5-2 I did more mistakes. She was playing good also, but I change a little bit tactically.
Q. As you look to tomorrow, facing Coco Gauff, how exciting is that opportunity for you and what are you hoping to get out of that experience?
SOLANA SIERRA: Yeah, so very excited. I think it's a great opportunity for me to play a really top player. I really like that challenge. Yeah, it's going to be super, super tough.
Yeah, I'm super excited to play that match.
Q. Guido, mixed doubles, even though the tie was clinched at that point, winning every match if it comes down to percentages is important. What was your mindset going out into that match thinking it's important to win it?
GUIDO ANDREOZZI: Yeah, of course we knew every match is really important. We know from last year. We didn't qualify for I think one set. We knew that every match is important.
Also we wanted to have fun on the court with Lourdes. I think sharing the week with this amazing group is really nice. There is no chance to don't go on the court and give everything, so yeah.
Q. You're playing tomorrow. Do you think that's advantageous for you, to have all your group matches done, or would you rather wait and spread it out?
MARCO TRUNGELLITI: It depends a lot on what we do tomorrow. Now we have the result from today, then maybe is a little bit easier. Also to play the strongest team on our second match is not great because is also their first match. Sometimes in these stage groups, maybe the U.S. are playing not 100% against Spain because they already qualified or exactly the opposite, but it's something that we can't really manage. It is what it is.
Their job is to win as easy as is possible. They have done it today in an amazing job because we just lost one set, which was against an opponent like this, Spain, is amazing.
We see tomorrow how it is. If we get one point, is great. If we get two, is going to be even more great. But we are looking for the three points. We see how it goes.
Obviously we did result today. We know these guys are ready to give their best and play their best tennis.
