THE MODERATOR: Tough luck today. You can still be the best runner-up. Words from the captain about the matches today.

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah, it'll always tough to lose. Obviously as the captain, first player, I take responsibility on a high level. First one to be disappointed.

At the same time very proud of the effort in mixed doubles. I thought it was a great match, high level. It's unfortunate at the end we couldn't get it.

Like you said, we still have a chance. These competitions are good. We can lose and still be in the tournament. Hopefully we'll still be in the tournament two days from now.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. A question about Davis Cup. The nominations came out. Your name wasn't there on there, Felix. Can each of you talk about what Davis Cup, United Cup, and Billie Jean King Cup means to you.

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah, I don't play. It's decision with schedules. I've played a lot of tennis in the last part of 2025. Obviously I have to be here, get ready for the Australian Open. I'm probably going to need a bit of time after the Australian Open to reset. Yeah, that's just personal schedule decisions.

Playing a team event has always been great for me. Had success. I've enjoyed it. I'm going to play in the future obviously in my career. Just a matter of time.

VICTORIA MBOKO: Yeah, it's always nice to have a team behind you. It's always a different format. That's what I like, how you're not really alone in a sense, that you have people that come together to watch all your matches, really cheer and support you. I really like to have that support sometimes. It's not really often you get that in tournaments. I really like these kinds of tournaments, spending time with all the people on the team. I think that's what I enjoy the most.

Yeah, I mean, I always like to play under the flag.

CLEEVE HARPER: Anytime I get the opportunity to come play for Team Canada, I'm going to do it. I've only been playing on the pro tour for about a year and a half now. I'm kind of new to all this. Playing college tennis, I always loved the team events. Anytime I get the opportunity, I'm going to go and give it my all.

Q. Can you run me through the match today, how you think it went.

VICTORIA MBOKO: Yeah, I mean, Elise played really great tennis from the start. Maybe I was a bit too passive in the beginning. There were moments where I was able to turn it around. I felt like she was serving pretty great. It was hard for me to break her serve pretty often.

I think she played pretty good tennis. There were moments where I had my chances and I could have stepped my level up. She stayed right there with me. I've got to give huge props to her.

Yeah, I mean, it's the start of the year. I just want to get a lot of matches in and have good prep for the Aussie Open. I'm glad I got to play her.

Q. Cleeve, can you talk about when you found out you'd be playing today and how the mixed doubles match went.

CLEEVE HARPER: Yeah, Felix just kind of let me know before the match that I was going to go on. Kind of prepared the whole day thinking I was going to play. You always got to get the mindset and be ready because you never know what might happen.

Yeah, just kind of went out there and gave it my best. It was really fun playing with Vicky. She's obviously a great player, a great teammate. She's going to do great things on tour.

Yeah, for me it was just a really nice experience to get out there and play against some of the best players in the world. It gives you a bit of perspective on what I kind of need to work on, seeing everyone put in the work, what they're doing, what it takes to get to that level.

Yeah, just learning a lot out here. It's really nice.

VICTORIA MBOKO: I had a lot of fun playing with Cleeve, as well. He's top 100 in the world in doubles. I felt like I had a lot to learn from him, too.

It's nice. I usually don't play a lot of doubles, so to get in these mixed doubles matches can really give myself a new perspective on the game. Yeah, I had so much fun.

It didn't go our way, but I really enjoyed spending the court time with both of them. It was great.
