Quick Quotes
Q. Another clutch putt there at 18 to stay bogey-free, shoot 66. You must be feeling good going into the final round.
ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, I feel great. I just have an opportunity to get one of those spots. That's what I asked for coming into this week, and put myself in good position. Now I've just got to go finish.
Q. What would be your mindset tomorrow? You've got 18 holes, two shots off the lead, but you are just playing for one of those three spots. Do you stay aggressive? Do you just watch the leaderboard? How are you going to approach it?
ANTHONY KIM: I've never played in a qualifier for three spots, so I don't know how to do it. But I'm just going to do what I've been doing: Give myself as many opportunities as I can, get aggressive when I can, and hopefully the putts fall tomorrow.
Q. Obviously you made a couple of lengthy putts earlier in the round. How has the flat stick been for you?
ANTHONY KIM: I actually made nothing on the front nine. But on, I think -- I don't remember. I made two putts from outside of 10 feet, which felt like a mile. I need to make a few more putts tomorrow. But if I do that, I should be in good shape.
Q. You're striking it really well, as you mentioned, and couldn't get anything to drop. Was your frustration level tested at all? Was your patience tested? Or did you figure, oh, it's going to come at some point?
ANTHONY KIM: My frustration is tested every minute of every day when I play this game. But it's part of it. That's why we come back. You've got to have the right mindset.
I think the discipline that I'm showing this week and the last couple tournaments is why I'm starting to play better. Not losing my mind and thinking about all the negative but just focused on the next shot and what I can do to prepare for that next shot.
Q. What have you learned about your game this week, if anything?
ANTHONY KIM: I haven't learned anything. I know that if I play well, I can play with the best in the world. I've been working up to that, and obviously my results don't show that. But I know where I am. I've played at a high level before. I expect to play there again. That's the only reason I'm working so hard.
Q. How satisfying was it to be bogey-free today and to keep that going on the last hole?
ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, it was a big deal for me mentally. I knew that I was bogey-free, and I needed to make that 15-footer. Took a little bit more time to grind on it and hit a great putt, and luckily it went in.
Q. Your thoughts as you saw the ball kind of start its way around the edge of the cup there?
ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, it's nice to see it actually go in as opposed to go out. But that's just the way the game goes. Sometimes you have six months where balls are lipping out and you have six months where the balls are lipping in. Hopefully I've had enough lip-outs now where they'll start falling my way, and I believe that's going to happen.
Q. How curious was the walk up 18 today knowing that even if you weren't in second you still have 18 more holes, as compared to yesterday where you were just trying to get to today?
ANTHONY KIM: It was significantly different. I knew that if I didn't make birdie on 18 that my chances of playing on LIV next year were gone, and to me that's a big deal. I'd like to play at the highest level against the best players. It meant a lot to me.
But at the same time, I knew that I put the time in, good things are going to happen sooner or later.
Q. Do you feel like you've got the good vibes going for tomorrow?
ANTHONY KIM: I do. I'm still not hitting it the best that I can. I'm still not maybe making enough putts. But I think that I'm trending in the right direction, and if I just keep doing what I'm working on that tomorrow it'll show.
