CFP QUARTERFINAL AT THE CAPITAL ONE ORANGE BOWL: OREGON VS TEXAS TECH

January 1, 2026

Dan Lanning

Miami Gardens, Florida, USA

Hard Rock Stadium

Oregon Ducks

Postgame TV Interview

Oregon 23, Texas Tech 0

Q. Coach, that was a defensive clinic, four takeaways, three of which came from a true freshman. How much pride did you have watching your defense today?

DAN LANNING: Man, it was a lot of fun. Last week a lot of people talked about our defense. They showed up today. To hold them to 0, it was a really good offense, a really good team we just got to play, and our guys went out there and they just played the next play, played the next play, played the next play. They got in the red area, we played the next play. Our offense just kept punching and punching. We out-physicaled them there at the end, and that's where it needed to show up.

Q. Your offense was able to score on that final drive. What takeaways do you have for them going into the national semifinal?

DAN LANNING: We're going to have some growth moments for sure. But we're going to look at the tape, evaluate what we did well, what we didn't do well, and we'll be about the same things we've been about all year: Growth, opportunity for us to grow. But what was important today, we got the W.

Q. You're headed to the Peach Bowl. Why was it this team that could get you there?

DAN LANNING: Man, the strength in numbers, the connection of this group, the way they worked all year, the sacrifices that they've made. They earned this opportunity. I told them to go get their pound of flesh today, and they did that today.
