CFP QUARTERFINAL AT THE CAPITAL ONE ORANGE BOWL: OREGON VS TEXAS TECH

December 30, 2025

Dillon Thieneman

Miami Gardens, Florida, USA

Hard Rock Stadium

Oregon Ducks

Press Conference

Q. Is this your first time in Miami? Have you been to Miami before?

DILLON THIENEMAN: Yeah, I have been to Miami.

Q. Where are you from?

DILLON THIENEMAN: I'm from Indianapolis, Indy area, a suburb of there.

Q. How do you like being here since you've come here today, or yesterday?

DILLON THIENEMAN: Very nice. It's a lot warmer definitely than Oregon. A lot more enjoyable.

Q. What was it like seeing Blankenship and DeJean reference the shirts?

DILLON THIENEMAN: That was awesome. I mean, I feel like me and Bryce got excited to talk to them at some point.

Q. That was a couple weeks ago. Has there been contact yet other than that?

DILLON THIENEMAN: No, we've kind of just been focusing.

Q. Have you thought about what's next, hopefully in three weeks, what that looks like?

DILLON THIENEMAN: I have been thinking, just considering my options and trying to get information, but I haven't made a decision yet.

Q. Did you ask for an evaluation from the NFL College Advisory Committee?

DILLON THIENEMAN: Yes.

Q. What did they tell you?

DILLON THIENEMAN: They said second round.

Q. When you think about the factors, it's very hard to --

DILLON THIENEMAN: Yeah, often there's not always a safety taken the first round, and then there will be an outlier year where there's three, like a couple years ago. The bad part of that would be like potential injury. A safety, you can be the top safety, but you can end up in the same draft position.

Q. And if another safety who's a potential first round who's out there a couple years from now -- what would ultimately be the deciding factor, the injury component, the business side of it? Are there other factors in terms of who else might come back?

DILLON THIENEMAN: I feel confident about the coaches and the team. I know Tosh is leaving, but I really like Hampton. He's been a DC in the past. I'd be happy to come back if I choose to go that route.
