CFP FIRST ROUND: TULANE VS OLE MISS

December 20, 2025

Deuce Alexander

Oxford, Mississippi, USA

Vaught Hemingway Stadium

Ole Miss Rebels

Postgame Press Conference

Ole Miss 41, Tulane 10

Q. Deuce, what was it like playing in this environment today?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: It was just a great environment. Just love seeing all the fans out there, everybody out there with their belts. You know, it just felt great, yes, sir.

Q. How would you describe having gone through the last several weeks and then come out and play as well as you did?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: We had great preparation. It's still going on, but everybody kept their focus and kept the main thing the main thing. We just went out there and handled our business.

Q. Deuce, no basketball hoop. They're different cleats. I'm curious, from your perspective, what's the difference between playing a game in this new Golding era?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: It wasn't really like a big difference. You know, no hoop. It felt a little weird, like with the chain and stuff. It honestly felt the same. Nothing too different.

The cleats, he gave us a little flexibility to come out here and wear what we want to, as long as it was the same colors. I'm glad he was able to do that. Everybody just had fun.

Q. Pete mentioned that he sat down with every player and was, like, Hey, what's a suggestion you love, and what's a suggestion maybe you would change? I don't know if you are willing to share what you put down. What did it mean to be a part of that meeting?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: It felt great. He wanted to know our opinions and, like, I seen him write everything down that people were saying, and he changed a lot of things that people were saying. It just felt great to have a coach that listened to you and just wants what's best for you.

Q. That's now two big games for you and the team against Tulane this season. What was working for you personally? What did you see from the team that was working tonight?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: Personally just watching film with my coaches, Coach PG, Coach McDonald, just preparing throughout the week and just getting ready to play.

As a team, just not taking anybody lightly. Just going out there and handling our business, so we just took care of business.

Q. How did tonight feel for you? I know you mentioned that you wanted to see more targets come your way and get more involved in the offense. How did tonight feel leading the team in targets and being able to display what you could do on the football field tonight?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: It felt great. I know I kind of showed my emotions a little bit in that game, but I had a conversation with the coaches and just let them know it came from a good place. I'm not that type of guy.

I'm just glad that they believed in me enough to give me those targets this game and just see -- like, be able to showcase what I can do.

Q. Deuce, first-ever College Football Playoff game here at Ole Miss. How did it feel to be a part of making history?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: Hey, man, it felt great. First season coming here, I knew when I first got here we was going to be a great team, but honestly, this is crazy. Last year, you know -- yeah, it's pretty crazy, but it just feels great to be a part of this, and it's a great team.

Q. There's been so much news and so much talk about Coach Kiffin leaving. As players, how ready were you guys to go out and show what you guys could do and make the kind of statement that this season has been more about you guys than anybody else?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: We was just ready, because just blocking out all the extra noise, like people saying we wasn't going to be the same team without Coach. He was a great coach and all that, but at the end of the day, the players play the game. So we were just prepared for the moment, just ready to go out there and show and prove everybody wrong.

Q. Twelve days, quick turnaround, get another rematch in Georgia. What does it mean to have another chance at them?

DEUCE ALEXANDER: It feels great, man. It's always a great matchup against them, the history between the two teams, and I'm just glad that we get to go out there and just play them again, have a chance for the get-back. Just ready to go out there and compete.
