Q. All right, joining me here today after the second round of the LOTTE Championship is Mariel. Take us through your round today.

MARIEL GALDIANO: So today I started off kind of opposite of yesterday. A little bit hotter with some birdies to start with. And then kind of just mellowed out a little bit. I struggled dropping a few putts but stayed focused and just really patient.

I was able to birdie my last hole and secure a nice 3-under for two days, so I thought it went pretty well.

Q. Looks like you will be heading into the weekend. What are you going to be focused on this weekend?

MARIEL GALDIANO: I would say focusing on what I've been doing and maybe taking some extra time to work on putting a little bit. I feel like the greens can get a little tricky. Rolling in a few more putts would be great.

Q. We've had some players mention the grass here being different and grippier. Can you talk about that and also if you think having the local knowledge and growing up on this type of grass helps?

MARIEL GALDIANO: Yeah, so this type of grass is a little bit different because we're by the ocean and it's a little warmer here. A little bit different from like the American south, so just being able to know how the grass grows and just knowing how it reacts just from playing out here and living here has helped me a lot, yeah.

Q. There were a few amateurs in the field this week from Hawai'i. Can you just give a little piece of advice to anyone that might be starting their career and wanting to follow in your footsteps?

MARIEL GALDIANO: Yeah, definitely I would say don't be afraid to ask questions. A lot of us were in their shoes, so most often than not if you ask, like, hey, how do you approach like your practice round or what do you think about, you'll get some really good advice from us out here.

Just don't give up. Sometimes it gets really, really tough and you feel like it's the end of the world. Golf is what we do; it's not who we are. You hear that time and time again and it's true. I've used that for myself as well.
