Q. 4-under par round in these conditions at Carnoustie, you must be really pleased with your day's work?

SCOTT JAMIESON: Yeah, delighted. It's obviously traditionally the you tougher of the three venues. So anything in the 60s, I would have signed for, and obviously the way the weather turned on the back nine, I was delighted to hang on.

Q. If how important was it getting those three birdies and the eagle before the turn when the weather conditions really started to get bad?

SCOTT JAMIESON: Yeah, I'd seen the forecast. So I knew I was going to play the back nine, my front nine -- the course's back nine downwind before the rain came and the wind was really going to pick up. So I knew a fast start was required and it would just be a case of batten down the hatches and head for home.

Q. Speaking of heading home, how important was that bounceback birdie after the double?

SCOTT JAMIESON: Yeah, I think that in conditions like this, it's so easy for spiral out of control without doing a great deal wrong, and it's so easy to get on a bogey train when it's like that.

That just kind of reset me, and then a couple of good pars after that, and yeah, you feel like you've got something to fight for on every hole when you keep making pars. When the bogeys start slipping in at that point, it can easily get away from you.

4-under I'm delighted with.

Q. Great position going into the third round. We don't know what's going to happen with the weather but 18 holes to go before the cut.

SCOTT JAMIESON: Yeah, it always such a bunched leaderboard, and the weather looks a little suspect tomorrow, too. If we are playing, it's going to be another day to just take it one shot at a time, that old cliché, and hopefully put myself in a good position with a round to go.

Q. Being a home player, how enjoyable is it playing back home in Scotland even when the weather is not as good as we'd like?

SCOTT JAMIESON: It's a privilege to come play these three golf courses. They are beautiful but obviously the time of year we come here can lead to some questionable weather. It's always great fun and I've made real good friends with so many people at this event. So yeah, always love coming.
