LOTTE CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY HOAKALEI

October 4, 2025

Mariel Galdiano

Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii, USA

Q. Joining me today after the final round of the LOTTE Championship is Mariel Galdiano. You had a good week this week. What does it mean to you to just finish inside the cut line and represent Hawai'i in this way?

MARIEL GALDIANO: It's been such a great week. I played in both pro-ams and made it through into the weekend. It's been a long, fun week out here. Having family and friends and fans out cheering me has been so special. There is no place like Hawai'i, like home. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me.

Q. Does your dad always caddie for you, or is that something special this week?

MARIEL GALDIANO: For the most part I've been trying to find a good fit for a caddie, but my dad knows my game really well. He caddied for me on both Epson and LPGA. We're trying to find that medium and hopefully get a steady caddie for next season so I can give him a break.

Q. Talk about maybe the comparisons of playing this year as opposed to the previous time you played in the LOTTE. Just the difference of experience personally and just playing the course.

MARIEL GALDIANO: Yeah, definitely. I came out this year much more confident in my game and knowing I can go and execute those shots when needed and not feel so much pressure. Today was a little different, final day, maybe a little bit more nerves than usual.

I tried my best and was able to birdie the last hole to end on a good note.

Q. Curious, how many steps do you get in during a round?

MARIEL GALDIANO: I think close to four miles, but the grass here at Hoakalei is pretty thick. I think I need double massages after this.

Q. Just kind of a follow up. You mentioned having family and friends in the gallery and following you along. Talk about the special -- how special is it to play in this pro event at home and having that kind of support.

MARIEL GALDIANO: So a lot of my family and friends who came out usually see me on a more casual setting, like when we play golf together or just hang out. I think it's really cool that they get to see me in my element, see what I do on a day-to-day basis, what I do for a living.

It's nice to have them cheer me on. When I'm struggling a little bit more, hearing them clap for me gives me a lot of strength.

Q. What do you see as your objectives between now and the end of the season over the coming weeks either to set yourself up for next year or otherwise?

MARIEL GALDIANO: I have some down time. I won't playing in Asia, so I'll spend some time here with family but also working on my game. There is always things for me to work on. Dialing in putting more and being a little more accurate off the tee and getting some distance, too. I think that showed a little bit this week for me.

And, yeah, just resetting my mind as well. It's been a long year, but we always have our goals next year. It's always to be out here again on the LPGA, so looks like I'll be playing Q-Series again and hopefully The ANNIKA at Pelican. So I'll look forward to that, get ready for that.

Just take it easy in in the meantime.

Q. As far as just you talk about your experience here and what it's like to be in Hawai'i. As far as anybody who is coming up, what advice would you give to those people trying to be in your shoes?

MARIEL GALDIANO: I would say seek help from those older than you, better than you. When I was younger that's what I always did. I moved up age divisions. I played with college girls when I was in high school just to, yeah, kind of measure myself out there and push myself.

When you don't really do that you kind of get stuck in this like same maybe rut or plateau. If you play with someone better than you you can see how you compare to them and how you can improve as well.
