Quick Quotes
Q. Hayden, 62. Just summarize how you're feeling back in this golf tournament heading into the final round.
HAYDEN SPRINGER: Yeah, I feel good. It's what I was kind of hoping to do today. Kind of disappointed I didn't make birdie there on 18, but overall I made a ton of putts and played well.
So I'm happy to be where I'm at, and we'll see.
Q. Was there one putt or one moment in the round that kind of made it feel like you were able to keep the momentum rolling?
HAYDEN SPRINGER: I mean, it's always good when you hole-out. I holed one on 5, you know, so that's always like a pleasant surprise and kind of gets you going.
But, no, probably I mean, the putts on 16 and 17 were really nice there at the end.
Q. The sand shot at 18 was almost as good. I thought you had that for half a second. How did that feel coming off the club?
HAYDEN SPRINGER: Yeah, I hit it how I wanted to. You know, I had a good lie on the upslope which obviously helped with the green going away from me, so I was really happy with that shot.
Q. Conditions favorable again today?
HAYDEN SPRINGER: Yeah, I think this was probably the best day we've had.
Q. Contention for tomorrow. Feel like what you need to do tomorrow?
HAYDEN SPRINGER: I mean, don't overthink it.
Q. This time of the season there is a lot of status talk, bubble talk. Wanted to ask, did you learn anything from being on the bubble last year? Maybe when did some of those thoughts start to creep in, and are they yet for you?
HAYDEN SPRINGER: Yeah, I mean, last year was tough. Like I definitely wanted to keep my card and do that, but I've been fortunate to have enough opportunities this year. I think the biggest thing is every shot counts. Whether I win or don't win tomorrow, whatever happens, every shot, every point matters at the end of the year.
So I think that's the biggest thing, is I definitely want to win and be there and do all that, but it still comes down to every shot and just trying to take it shot by shot and do the best I can on each and every one of those.
Q. Knowing there is only a couple of weeks left, month left, what does this next month mean for and you your family career-wise?
HAYDEN SPRINGER: Yeah, it's big for me. Like I'm pretty far back in terms of keeping my card, so it means a lot. It's important to me.
There is a big difference between being in a conditional status to full status and all that, so it's really important. It means a lot. It's something that I really want to do.
But obviously it starts with trying to play good golf and just try and take care of the things that I can take care of and let that all play out from there.
Q. When you have a round of 62, low round like this, do you think back to the 59, and does anything feel similar? Anything you draw on there?
HAYDEN SPRINGER: No, I wasn't thinking about it, but, I mean, yeah, it's always kind of similar. You can kind of feel like you're getting on a roll and things are going your way, hitting good putts, they're going in, that kind of thing.
The 59 was even more of that where it's like I couldn't miss on the green. So I had a few of them today towards the end there to feel like I was getting it going.
