Quick Quotes
Q. Tell me a little bit about your day and what were you most pleased with out there.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I played better yesterday, I think. Definitely towards the end of the round yesterday, I felt like my swing -- I think the course makes you, like you end up being a bit guidey. I wasn't happy with how I hit it towards the end yesterday. I hit some balls afterwards, and I felt like today the swing was in a better place.
I hit it in the fairway a lot today and gave myself some chances with irons. It's easy talking about how many things you did well when you shot 8-under, but a really good round of golf.
Q. What was the process yesterday when you analyzed your round?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Well, stuff that I do wrong with my swing, it's always like one of a few things. I can gem get a decent sense of it and go ahead and work on it. I just felt like I wanted to hit some balls and do the drills I always do to try to get myself back to where I give myself a good chance of hitting good golf shots. Range closed at 5.30, but I got enough time.
Q. Everything looks and sounds like it's on track in terms of the game. Tell me a little bit about your review of the golf course and your feelings towards it.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It's great. We spoke about it quite a bit out there. It's just such a unique challenge for all of us. I haven't hit more than a 5-wood. The one hole where I hit more is 18, but you get to that and you're like, well, I haven't hit one, and I don't really feel that comfortable with it. It's such a unique challenge, and the greens are firming out a little bit and the pins have been tricky.
It's been very, very enjoyable. It's a test of patience when you're not quite on it because like it's one of those courses, you get a few of them where you feel -- if you hit it good off the tee you're going to have some short irons and wedges and feel like you've always got a chance to get it wrong. It's such a waiting game. You've got to be very patient. It's been a great test.
Q. Shane is standing five yards away from you, so be careful what you say.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: He's locked in on his phone.
Q. He did say yesterday what a nice group that it was and what a difference that made to the experience out here. Do you feel similar?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, unbelievable three-ball. I think because you're so comfortable with each other, you do your own thing. Yeah, I mean, like just it's always links-style golf course a bonus when you're with two guys that you're really close with.
So yeah, I saw the draw -- or Shane actually told me about the draw and I was really pleased. It has been a great two days. I feel like if I'm playing with Shane for the next two days, I'm doing something right probably.
