Quick Quotes
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: With how I played, I've done a lot of work the last few weeks and I didn't hit it very good, was fighting it left, also missed a few putts. All in all I'm happy with the way that I finished in the sense I shot 2-under. But I'm going to go to the range and sort some things out.
Q. Any positive takeaways?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I think focus was really good. I have to admit, it's been seven, eight weeks I've played and I'm coming back after awhile. I definitely felt some nerves. I felt a little tentative in the early part of my round.
But I'm really happy with how I focused. Like I said, I didn't have my best game today but I kept it together and I was very good with my strategy. Pretty happy with overall how I handled myself.
Q. What do you make of the overall condition?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I think this morning was probably some of the best conditions we're going to get for scoring. As the week goes on and as the day goes on -- it appears to be tougher and tougher. You expect that. You expect it to get harder as the week goes on.
Q. Did you hit driver today in?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: No, I didn't hit driver.
Q. You have played a lot of rounds today. What was different since the course hat been redesigned?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I think the difference is how you approach the greens because that's what's been changed. I think off the tee, I don't think my strategy has changed on any hole. Every hole is pretty much the same strategy that I had before. Are obviously you're in the heart of Delhi and you can't really move the layout. So the layout is still the same but obviously all the green complexes are new. The strategies off the tee are the same but some new pin positions and new greens, you have to be more careful, and you can be more aggressive with some of them. So it's just the greens, it's a different approach.
Q. What do you think you need to look out for this week?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I think this golf course, you can make a big, big number anywhere. If you hit it offline and you are out of position, a big number is waiting for you. I think when you do hit a bad shot you have to accept your medicine and try and make a bogey or try and escape with a par. I think if guys are going to try and be heros and go for the miracle shot, they are going to end up with some big numbers.
There's a couple of holes that are difficult. I think 9 is obviously one of the hardest holes here and just depending on the conditions and the wind, you could get some new challenges but I think any hole, you can't lose your focus.
Q. Since you mentioned the weather conditions right now, what would you say would be the weather that could play a part in deciding?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: It's beautiful weather to be honest. It just depends on whether they water the course or not. How firm they want the course to get is up to the tournament. If they stop watering and they start cutting it down a little bit, you could see a really firm and fast golf course come Saturday and Sunday, and I'm actually hoping for that because the golf course will get really tough.
