THE RYDER CUP

September 26, 2025

Justin Rose

Tommy Fleetwood

Farmingdale, New York, USA

Q. Both teams huddled around this green, what was your thought process standing over that final putt at the last?

JUSTIN ROSE: Rome '23. Sun is going down Friday afternoon the 18th hole, and that one was for Tommy that time, not the rest of the team. He carried me today.

I felt like I put the ball in play nicely off the tee, but Tommy made some huge putts in the right moments, and you know, that was a huge turnaround match.

Obviously I think my moment of the day, I guess, was 7 when Ben holed that 60-footer and I was able to pour it in from 40 foot to not go 2-down, I felt kept us into the match. We knew we were coming into a difficult stretch of holes. The first few holes were playing somewhat easy, and then the course showed its teeth a little bit and that's where Tommy's ball-striking and our resolve really came through.

Q. From Paris to New York, you continue to deliver for Team Europe, meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler without a point today. Bryson DeChambeau without a point today. How much of a boost does that give Team Europe keeping two of their Alpha dogs completely quiet today?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: The scoreboard is what counts, and I think just our team as a collective, I think we obviously feel very prepared, and we've been looking forward to this day for a long time now. So to have got off to a good start feels great.

Yeah, of course, I mean, their team is stacked with amazing players. So whoever it is, the match going to be difficult, and the points mean so much.

You know, just to be out there today with Justin, I wanted to do that for a very, very long time, play with Justin in a Ryder Cup. It was a great match, it really, really was. So yeah, just happy to have contributed another point to overall score we want to get to.
