Q. Alfred Dunhill Links Champion 2025. How does that sound?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Unbelievable. Any time you can win a golf tournament on these shores is special, but just delighted the way I did it. Played really nice over the three days, and yeah, here we are.

Q. It was such a distinct advantage to be used to this sort of weather. Would you say that's fair?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, it's just the biggest thing is being able to get over the golf ball and not be scared. The biggest thing on the three golf courses is to stay out of the pot bunkers, especially off the tee. And I've done that well, apart from the first hole at Carnoustie the first day.

Other than that, I thought I managed it well, stayed out of the pot bunkers. But then once you're in position, it's about controlling the golf ball to then land softly around the pins when you get a chance, and I thought I did a great job of that.

Q. The Genesis Scottish Open a few years back and winning this huge championship, with all the home folk, it must be a blast.

ROBERT MacINTYRE: It's brilliant. I don't know how we're going to celebrate after the celebration we had last Sunday.

Q. Tell us about that, too, please.

ROBERT MacINTYRE: We'll try our best. I don't know if it will be tonight, but over the next couple of weeks we'll have a nice celebration. Look, any time you can win, it's difficult to win, and yeah, it's just a beautiful end to go a good week.

Q. Everyone is so very proud of the team, the Ryder Cup team that triumphed over there. It was so amazing. We all watched it, and as I say, very proud. How did you muster up so much energy?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: To be honest, I don't know. I had a laugh when we were driving the buggy back down to the clubhouse. I've done everything against the book this week, from preparation, I pitched up Wednesday afternoon. I know the golf courses. Played 12 holes on Wednesday. The diet has not been good this week; I can confirm that. I've eaten plenty of takeaways, fish and chips, plenty of others.

But yeah, it's been, yeah, sometimes when you are least expecting it things happen. As you say, when I won in Canada, everything that I wanted to do, I didn't do. Yeah, here we are this week.
