Quick Quotes
Q. All right, joining me today after the second round. LOTTE Championship is Pernilla Lindberg. You've had some exciting announcements recently. Do you want to share those with us?
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Yeah, so I am currently four months pregnant. Me and my husband are expecting our first child in March of 2026. Because of that, I am ready to take a step back from playing on Tour.
I've said I might play the Chevron Championship in the future. Not next year; that's going to be too tight. But, yes, otherwise I am done playing out on Tour.
I want to be a full time mom. I've given it my all out here for 16 years and ready for the next chapter in life.
Q. You've had an incredible career. Looking back, what are some shining moments?
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Obviously the highlight is being able to call myself a major champion winning the 2018 ANA Inspiration, now the Chevron Championship.
Besides that, I would say playing 16 years out here, that's I think a lot longer that I could ever have dreamed of. It's gone by in a flash. I've shed a lot of happy tears in the last 30 minutes, hour, and it's because I'm going to miss all the memories I've created out here, all the people. I have created some of my best friendships for life out here on Tour.
Q. We saw you celebrating with Aza. Can you just speak a little bit about your friendship with her?
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Yeah. Aza and I, we were rookies together in 2010. We started off traveling and rooming together. Played Q-School together in 2009, but we go back even further. We probably played against each other for the first time ever when she was 14 years old, I was 15. She represented Spain and I represented Sweden.
We been on this journey together ever since.
Q. As you're passing the torch to the next generation, what's your piece of advice to all the newcomers out here?
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Don't be too hard on yourself. You're going to have so many ups and downs out here. Enjoy the journey. Take care of the Tour. Try to do something good for the Tour where you leave it in a better place than you found it.
Appreciate the fans, the volunteers that we have out here, the staff, everyone that helps us. Because I think a lot of players it's easy to just show up and take everything for granted inside the ropes, but it's so much more that goes into it for us to be able to do it.
