Quick Quotes
Q. Joining me here today after the second round of the LOTTE Championship is Allisen Corpuz. You played some good golf today, put yourself pretty solidly in contention. Can you just talk about today?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, just another solid round. Made a few good birdie putts and just been hitting it well the last two days. Made a few really good up and downs for par coming in.
Yeah, really excited for the weekend.
Q. It's obviously pretty gusty out here. Talk about what you think course management looks like out here.
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, absolutely. There is just a few holes, the fairways are so wide but you'll maybe want to be coming in from the right or left side of the fairway just to be hitting into the wind almost on a few approach shots.
Just clubbing I think is always tough when it gets this gusty. Like it'll play -- like the wind sits down and you'll hit a good number and just be long or short. I think it's just more about staying patient and just sticking to the game plan.
Q. Can you talk a bit about your caddie and what role he plays when you're playing a kind of home game I guess?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, absolutely. Jay has been on the bag for my entire year on Tour which I think is pretty rare. I'm really lucky that he's on the bag. I would say he's one of my best friends now. I don't know if he would say the same.
He works really hard and I think just his demeanor, he's really calm, so sometimes the adrenaline gets going and he's really good at managing the moment and saying, hey, like let's put ourself into position here, whatever, just kind of talking me into the moment and helping me calm down.
Q. Just curious, what was the turnaround like for you to have the late finish yesterday and then tee off in the morning today?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, pretty quick. I got off the course I would say around 5:45 and then grabbed some food, stretched a bit at night, saw my physio, and then went to bed. So pretty quick turnaround and then came back out here 5:30 for breakfast.
Q. There are some girls in the tournament who aren't pros, Alexa and then another local girl who hasn't played with the pros yet. She works at the pro shop at Kapolei. She was just talking about how like she's living her dream playing out here and stuff. How much do you think that puts things in perspective for you? This is old hat for you now but for some local girls this tournament, they're living the dream kind of thing.
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I Monday qualified into this event, so I believe this was my first start as well when I was an amateur, senior in high school. I just think it's a great opportunity for them to get their feet wet, see what it's like to play alongside the pros.
It's just really nice to have a home game I think and be able to see it up close.
