Quick Quotes
Q. Jeff, 8-under par 64 here at Kingsbarns. How pleased are you with your opening round here at the Alfred Dunhill Links?
JEFF WINTHER: Very happy. Everything went as it should. Very lucky with the weather. Basically almost no wind, which is rare around here. Course is great. Good fun to play. Got a great partner, Michael Lund, phenomenal guy. Yeah.
Q. You've had some really good results here in the past. Do you think you've kind of worked out the challenge of playing three courses in three days?
JEFF WINTHER: I think it's the setup with the amies as well. It's a lot more loose. It's not as -- you don't feel as competitive in a way. So you're sort of shoulders down, go have a talk between shots, and you make fun of each other and this and that. I love this format. It's a great tournament.
Q. Is that when we've seen your best golf, when you're able to free up a little bit and you're maybe not so hard on yourself?
JEFF WINTHER: Yeah, I think so. I think it's important to have a smile on your face and have fun while you work, no matter what you do. So I think that comes to my benefit around here, yeah.
Q. It's difficult to not have a smile on your face when you're playing three fantastic courses like these as well.
JEFF WINTHER: 100 percent. These are great courses. It's always great to come back. I've come here for quite a bit of years now.
I love it here. It's beautiful. The sun rises in the morning, you're sitting inside, it's freezing outside, a bit afraid of going outdoors, but it's just mega, yeah.
