Q. Want to ask you first of all about Viktor Hovland's withdrawal for injury. Give us the details.

LUKE DONALD: Yeah, he started stiffening up yesterday morning. Tried to go out in the afternoon but got worse and worse. Got an MRI last night. Really, really stiff this morning. Tried to go through his warm up and just couldn't play.

So yeah, he's devastated. He's gutted. He wants to go out there and represent Team Europe. Yeah, it's very, very unfortunate.

Q. Your team now just need 2 1/2 points for victory. Many will think this is over but not you and your team. What message have you given to the players to retain the intensity?

LUKE DONALD: Yeah, zero complacency. We know how strong these guys are. They are very dangerous in singles. We've got to go take care of our own matches and try and win the session.

Q. Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood have just led off your singles order. How was it decided who would play when?

LUKE DONALD: Yeah, we thought the U.S. would go with their strongest players out front, as they have. We throughout all of our strongest, too, and we have reserves in the back in case we need it.
