Q. Can you talk through the match, what you think made the difference today against Zhang Shuai.

WANG XINYU: Well, from my side, there's really nothing much to say. I mean, she obviously played great tennis today. All credit to her.

Yeah, she was making me feeling, like, really under pressure all the time, especially from the return. If I'm not making a lot of first serves, I'm in big trouble.

Yeah, overall I tried to play my tennis today, but I couldn't because she was a lot of time more aggressive than me during the game. She was more aggressive than me during today's game.

I wish her good luck. I know it's a special place for her here. I could feel the energy in the crowd for her tonight, so yeah...

WANG XINYU: Indeed, I would like to thank you everyone's support. Thank you for their support. The opponent tonight was playing at a very high level. I was trying to play my own tennis. Most of the time I wasn't able to do so because of the pressure she put on me.

I really enjoy the atmosphere at home. In the past two years, I see that people are getting more and more attracted to tennis, more passionate about the sport. I'm really happy to see that.

Q. I saw there was a bandage on your leg. Talk about physicality, how you feel now.

WANG XINYU: Yes, last week in Shenzhen at the BJK Cup, I was feeling physically and mentally tired. Coming into Beijing, I wasn't feeling very well the last two days, so I tried to protect myself more today.
