Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea
Q. Congratulations. What a successful day for you guys. Maybe talk a little bit about your match first, which finished a little bit ago.
ANGEL YIN: We ham and egged really well today. And also, because we were watching them coming in it was so awesome to see everybody play such good golf.
Q. What particularly went well for you guys today? What made the pairing such a success?
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, I think when I didn't make a birdie Angel would make it, and then vice versa.
ANGEL YIN: Yeah, just really good ham and egging.
YEALIMI NOH: She played great and we were just, yeah, we were having a good time.
Q. And then moved on to be great supporters of this slightly close match. Can you that you can about that?
LILIA VU: Yeah, I think we were also doing ham and egg, you know, alternating bad shots. It worked out. We were able to kind of convert some birdie putts that we had and we just stuck to it and trusted each other.
Q. And you had this enormous support.
LILIA VU: Yes. I noticed Angel on our 15th hole and I was like, oh, my God they're done already. This is great. (Laughing.)
Q. And you're the only team today that won both of your matches. What is it about your team dynamic that you think?
LILIA VU: I think we just all get along and we all trust each other's games. Yeah, and we're having a good time.
Q. Have you done much team bonding?
LILIA VU: I mean, we went to dinner on Monday. Yealimi kind of coordinated that, so that was good for us.
YEALIMI NOH: Took them to some Korean barbecue. It was great.
Q. Well received by everyone?
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yes.
YEALIMI NOH: Oh, yeah. It was good. It was really good.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: And we played together all on Wednesday.
ANGEL YIN: Yeah.
YEALIMI NOH: Finally.
Q. And do you guys hang out a lot on Tour generally or is this a bonding moment for you getting to know each other?
LILIA VU: I think we all kind of do our own thing. We know this is a team tournament and we can always come together and try our hardest for our country.
Q. How critical is Solheim Cup experience in this kind of format? A lot of these girls out here don't get the opportunity to play in a team event like the Americans do.
LILIA VU: Yeah, I think we've just played more match play for the past couple years and kind of just --
ANGEL YIN: I think it's crucial because out there I'm very unpredictable. Sometimes when you have a bad shot, you can't get down. I think we stay in good spirit and I think that's the key.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Match play is so different than stroke play. It's a lot more like one hole doesn't really matter here or there so like you can't get too down on yourself and you just got to battle and stay in it.
Where stroke play you can be out of it pretty quickly; whereas match play you're always in it.
ANGEL YIN: And I think it's great because we can always lean on each other. That's why we have teammates, and I think we built that trust over the short amount of time. But we've done it and I think it's showing.
Q. And yet you spend so much of the year being solo and on your own. It must be quite a relief to have someone that you can have...
ANGEL YIN: Yeah, for sure.
YEALIMI NOH: Especially when you get to pick up the ball.
ANGEL YIN: No, that was definitely really nice. Make a birdie, yes, let's go.
Q. On that note, you birdied 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Like is it fun to look at each other when your other teammate is having a really good hole?
YEALIMI NOH: Oh, yeah, for sure. I'm like, see you on the next tee box.
ANGEL YIN: We're cheering for each other so it's just such a good vibe.
Q. Just curious what the Wednesday practice round was like when you finally did all get together. Was it a lot of laughs?
ANGEL YIN: It was chill.
LILIA VU: Like $100 makes on putts, like crazy --
YEALIMI NOH: Like crazy putts.
LILIA VU: We were definitely holding up the group behind. We decided to make out own competition, but I think we enjoy each other's company and that's what matters the most, right?
Q. Did anybody win any money?
LILIA VU: Yes, Jason.
ANGEL YIN: He holed it like right off the bat, too.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: It was like the second or third one, so he got a hundred bucks from all of us.
LILIA VU: So the players putt first and then the caddies get a chance, and Jason took it from all of us.
ANGEL YIN: He was the first one to putt.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: They're like crazy putts, too. It's not like -- it's like 50-footers from the edge all the way back. They're not easy putts.
ANGEL YIN: No.
Q. What did he make?
LAUREN COUGHLIN: How much like a 40 --
Q. How much money?
ANGEL YIN: It was a lot of money.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: (Talking over one another.)..broke like 15 feet.
LILIA VU: At one point we putted from the other green we weren't using too. Yeah.
Q. Wow. So how much money?
ANGEL YIN: You could say we were having fun. 700 Bucks. Good payday, huh?
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Or 100 ones.
ANGEL YIN: We were trying to tell him pesos.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Or 100 ones.
Q. I think I saw this going on at the U.S. Open practice round at Erin Hills.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Oh, we always do it.
ANGEL YIN: With JJ and them? Yeah, I think.
Q. So it's kind of a common occurrence.
LILIA VU: We did this at Solheim, too.
ANGEL YIN: Yeah, Solheim for sure. Whenever we do that at Solheim, practice at Solheim we always do that. Come over here.
Q. Who brings it up first?
LILIA VU: Cole. Cole always does. (Laughter.)
Q. How do you guys decide on pairings? In Solheim Cup you have a captain and this is a different vibe. You have to be a team and make your decisions. How are you managing that?
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Angela gave us a little bit of input. We talked quite a bit and we agreed on --
YEAHLIMI NOH: We were open to whatever.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, were open to whatever, so we kind of were just like, this is how we're going to start, and if we want to change it after that we can.
ANGEL YIN: The flexibility really helps.
LAUREN COUGHLIN: Pretty much anybody will play with anybody so it didn't really matter who. We were just trying to see who could vibe off each other.
