BANK OF UTAH CHAMPIONSHIP

October 23, 2025

Austin Cook

Ivins, Utah, USA

Q. All right, Austin, right now 6-under, tied for the lead; not entirely finished yet. Talk us through what's working.

AUSTIN COOK: Everything right now. I'm putting well, hitting it well. I'm playing smart when it needs to happen. No. 8 today, back left pin with the wind in and out of the left, you put it in the middle of the green and try and two putt.

We are sticking to the game plan and things are just clicking this week.

Q. When it is clicking is it a little bit frustrating when things like that happens where you just want to keep going?

AUSTIN COOK: Yeah, especially where I finished I think on 14, the drivable one. Hit a good drive to the back edge of the green and pretty dark. Probably should've waited, but hit the first putt. Did not lag it very well, so that's a little frustrating.

So fresh greens in the morning and try to make about the 20-footer I got left.

Q. You came in as an alternate.

AUSTIN COOK: Yeah, uh-huh.

Q. This must be a pretty good feeling.

AUSTIN COOK: Yeah, it's a great feeling. You know, the game has been getting better and better. I've just needed more opportunities. You know, hopefully I can make the most of it this week.

Got a couple lessons from Adam Schreiber and it clicks really well with me and it's really helping me right now.

Q. Did you feel like you had a chance to get in the field? I mean, it's late in the season.

AUSTIN COOK: Yeah, obviously after my finish in Puerto Rico, you know, I didn't have a great Sunday but still had maybe a top 15 or so. I was hoping to get in more events than I did this year, or at least capitalize on the ones I do get in, and that just hasn't been the case.

But thankful to get in this week. Last Wednesday I may have been eight out. I was coming to play the Monday. Or maybe five. I was eight at one point.

Then we were on the beach last week, I was practicing, ready to come do the Monday. Saturday got all the way down to first alternate. I felt like I was going to get in so I helped drive everybody home on Sunday and flew out Monday and on the plane I got a text.

Q. So you were prepared?

AUSTIN COOK: Yeah, yeah.
