Le Golf National
Quick Quotes
Q. Marcus, a fabulous 7-under 64 to start your account at the FedEx Open de France. Give us your assessment of that one.
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Yeah, there was some good stuff, and some bad stuff but mainly good stuff. Yeah, I'm really pleased with it.
Q. Eight birdies in ten holes in the middle stretch of the round. What clicked for you around that point?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Just putting. I was hitting it pretty close and just the putts started to drop. I think I one-putted every green for that space of holes. Yes, that will work.
Q. Do you physically feel the momentum building when you are playing like that?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: You do with a putter. Once you see a few go in, you know what I mean, you get on a run, and you know, then you just feel like you're just moving the putter and picking it out of the hole.
Yeah, you definitely feel it with the putter. You know, sometimes you get it with your irons and drivers become automatic, but mainly the putter, you get a lot of momentum with it.
Q. It's a very different test, Le Golf National. What do you make of it, more tree-lined, a bit tighter?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: I'm not a big fan -- well, I'm a big fan of Le Golf National. I've just never played well. Maybe it's a one-hit wonder for me coming here but we'll see.
Q. You come to this week 45th in The Race to Dubai rankings. Is the Top-50 on your mind as we edge towards the Playoffs of the DP World Tour?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: A hundred percent. I'd love to get a Top 20, Top 15 on the Order of Merit and press forward from there. So that's a big goal for me, and this is an important week for The Race to Dubai. Just three more of them and we'll see where we are.
