PITTSBURGH STEELERS MEDIA CONFERENCE

November 2, 2025

Daniel Jones

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Steelers - 27, Colts - 20

DANIEL JONES: What could have changed? What could you have done better? Certainly we can't have them, can't afford to put the ball in jeopardy those times. So go back and look at them on tape, and we'll be good.

Q. The sac fumbles, is there anything the quarterback can do better, you can do better? Is there much you can do on those?

DANIEL JONES: I think fundamentally it's always about keeping the ball tight and securing it, something that we work on. I've just got to make sure we do a better job of that and getting the ball out on time. That's always my job.

They have a good pass rush and guys who can move rush. Knowing that, I've got to get the ball out.

Q. You guys scored on that first drive going down the field. Why do you think it got so stagnant after?

DANIEL JONES: I'm not sure. I think the turnovers were probably the biggest thing that slowed us down today. I thought we executed at times and moved the ball at times. Then we hurt ourselves with turnovers.

I have to go back and look at it and see what else went on and what we could have done better. I think, yeah, obviously turnovers played a big part of it.

Q. Could you assess the second half? The team fought to the finish. Didn't seem like, even though a lot of things were going wrong, you hung it up in the middle of it. You just kind of played until the end.

DANIEL JONES: I think we knew that about the team, about the guys on the team. We got a lot of guys who will fight and play until the end of the game. Obviously the -- it didn't go our way for most of the game, but we fought. There's something to that. Obviously got to clean it up and play better.

Q. Did the Steelers do something different than you guys were expecting defensively today?

DANIEL JONES: I wouldn't say so. I think every team's going to have some adjustments here and there, and some things you prepare for are a little bit different. I think that happens week to week around the league.

I thought we were prepared from a game planning standpoint, and it ultimately got us to execute when we're out there.

Q. What gives you confidence that the way today went is just a one-week blip and not the start of something?

DANIEL JONES: I think we got mature guys in the room. We'll certainly be eager to correct the things we didn't do as well, but as far as our confidence level or who we believe we are as a team, I think that's strong, and we're sure of that. We're sure of who we are. We understand, if you turn the ball over, that's going to happen.

When we're protected, things have gone well for us. We have to continue to work that, and I'm sure we will.

Q. With Germany coming up, do you flush this one and move on?

DANIEL JONES: I think it's a normal process tonight and tomorrow to review it and see where we could improve. Then it's on to Germany. I don't think that changes just with the longer travel.

Q. Why do you think JT wasn't able to get going today?

DANIEL JONES: I think we got behind was a big part of it in the second half. We didn't throw it. Yeah, I don't know, credit to their defense. They've got good players over there, good scheme. Yeah, I'm not sure. I'll have to go back and look.

Q. With Matt Goncalves, him being out there, the emotions of seeing your teammate play through something like that?

DANIEL JONES: Yeah, the guy is a stud on and off the field. He's a great player, great dude, great teammate, and we're all here to support him.
