HOUSTON TEXANS MEDIA CONFERENCE

November 9, 2025

Trevor Lawrence

Houston, Texas, USA

Texans 36, Jaguars 29

Q. Trevor, tough loss. Talk with us a little bit about Ja'Kobi Meyers' debut. Got some chemistry this week established in practice and was able to go out and make a few plays.

TREVOR LAWRENCE: Yeah, he did a good job this week preparing himself to learn the system as quick as he can, learn the game plan, and go make plays for us. Made a couple big ones today and one early was taken off due to penalty.

But thought he did a great job being ready. Super hard working. Was impressive during the week. Yeah, thought he did a nice job.

Q. How hard was it to get anything going consistently in the pass game today with guys out?

TREVOR LAWRENCE: Yeah, I mean, we had our opportunities; just didn't take advantage of them. I think obviously like those things you mentioned are -- they can play a factor. I think it was more self-inflicted things really throughout the passing game and throughout the day on offense, to be honest.

There was a lot of stuff we left out there. It's a really good defense. Give them all the credit to them. They are a really good defense. So they made some plays today where good defensive teams are going to make plays, but I also feel like we left some stuff out there. We had some opportunities, and we just have to be better and make those moving forward. We need them.

We got to play better offensively, move the ball better, score more. Had a lot of short fields today. We just got to take advantage of that and be able to put a team away when you got them down that much. You got to be able to finish and put the game away.

Q. Liam said shell shock, disbelief in the locker room. Is that the way you would describe it, too, after that?

TREVOR LAWRENCE: Yeah, I mean, it's tough losing in general, but to lose that way and control the game and then to, you know, just kind of let it go and give it away is tough.

So, you know, it's tough to be in that locker room after that game like that. Guys put so much into it, and to not finish and play our best down the stretch is tough.

So we got to bounce back. Got a long season ahead of us. Definitely have to learn from this and not let this happen again, and we got to be able to close those games out. You got to win those.

Q. How do you keep it from bleeding over into next week or the week after?

TREVOR LAWRENCE: I mean, we just got to move on to the next week. Unfortunately this is what happened today. Can't change it now. It's over and done. We got to move forward into our next week and learn from it. I mean, let that be a chip on our shoulder and a little bit of fire under us for this week of practice.

It should sting for a while. You put a lot into it and you have control of a game and you got to finish them. So, yeah, I think guys are really frustrated in how it all played out and how we finished the game. Rightfully so.

We all are frustrated but we got to be able to channel that and have a great week of preparation and go get a win next week.

Q. How tough is it to overcome the penalties and like asking you like is it -- does it make you want to press more to make plays after you get knocked for holding or something like that?

TREVOR LAWRENCE: You know, I think it is hard to overcome penalties. That is something where we just have to be better. We've had said it all season long. We have to clean up the penalties. There was too many today putting us behind the chains, especially against a really good defense, really good pass rush. You put yourself in tough situations, usually not a good result when do you that.

So we got it clean that up. For me playing quarterback I got to just play every play for what it is and not try to press and do certain things. Can't let the situation affect me. I thought at times I managed that well and times I didn't.

I got to watch the tape and see what all kind of went wrong. I know there was a handful of plays that I got to do better, do my job and be sharper and help the guys out around me.

We'll watch it. I can't name them all right now. Definitely not a great performance for us as an offense. Got to find ways to improve.

Q. Parker's game today?

TREVOR LAWRENCE: Parker played great. Parker played great. Did a lot of really good things. Like I said earlier, kind of alluded to some more opportunities that we could have taken advantage of. He's just continuing to play well and got a lot of confidence. He's playing with a lot of confidence right now. You see the plays he's making for our team. He's been huge.

So got to keep him going. That was obviously a bright spot of a rough day. He did some great things and continuing to play well.
