NITTO ATP FINALS

November 16, 2025

Jannik Sinner

Turin, Italy

Inalpi Arena,Torino

Press Conference

J. SINNER/C. Alcaraz

7-6, 7-5

THE MODERATOR: Congrats, Jannik. Another perfect week in Turin. Can you sum up your feelings right now.

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, amazing feelings finishing the season here in Turin in front of the home crowd. It's the last match of the season. It's amazing feeling. Very emotional seeing my team there, the whole box.

I'm really, really happy.

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. How would you compare this year with last year? Obviously last year you finished as No. 1. Given you had time away and everything, how proud are you of this year? If you're able to compare the two.

JANNIK SINNER: Well, look, honestly I don't want to compare. It's amazing season. Last year has been an amazing season. This year making four Grand Slam finals, coming here, winning here, having this big streak in end of the year, it's amazing.

But mostly I feel to be a better player than last year, I think this is the most important. It's all part of the process. I always say and believe that if you keep working and trying to be a better player, the results, they're going to come. This year it was like this.

Of course, as I always say, the off-season, now we have a lot of time to adjust ourself already for next season, being as ready as possible.

Honestly, amazing season, no? Many, many wins, and not many losses. All the losses I had, I tried to see the positive thing and trying to evolve me as a player. I feel like or I felt like this happened in a very good way.

I'm extremely happy with the season.

Q. As you were playing that match, there were some crucial moments. It was obviously a tight two-setter. What do you think made the difference? Was it saving the set point? Breaking back in the second?

JANNIK SINNER: Well, for sure what you said are the two key moments, felt like. In the same time we both started off missing because we know each other, what we have to do. When you play a final against a very, very tough opponent, you tend to miss a bit more. It's normal. But we both had our tactics clear in our mind, I felt like.

The second set maybe the level was a bit higher because of a bit more of rallies, a bit more difficult to get through Carlos.

But the key moments, they're always there, you know? 30-All at times, if you don't serve well... Other moments are also 2-1 in the first set. If he breaks there, the match could lead very fast in the other way. It's also a part of perspective how you see the match.

Yeah, I felt like small, small details made the difference. I was lucky when I broke him back with the shanked return. I also have to say that.

No, at the end of the set I felt like we both were playing great tennis from the back of the court. The small margins are very, very small.

Q. There is a lot of appreciation between you and Carlos. Would you call each other friends? Are there any other players, apart from the Italian players, you feel closer to than Carlos?

JANNIK SINNER: Well, I feel like we had this conversation a bit with Darren. He used to play back in the day. Players, they used to go dinner, having dinner together, because the teams were not as big. It was maybe player plus one. You tend to be a bit more together. You open up yourself. You tell stories in the locker room.

I still feel it's a bit like this. You have your more favorite not players but friends in the locker room. You talk a bit in different ways.

Of course, I believe that Carlos has great friends and I have great friends, too. You tend to go a bit more in the national team because it's normal. You spend more time with Italians.

I do have also other players I feel very close to: Jack Draper, Reilly Opelka, these kind of friendships. I feel they're honest and you can get along very well.

But with Carlos is also a bit different because of on-court reasons. We have a very good relationship, rivalry, call it however. I feel like we can talk about everything still. I think it's great. We are good friends off the court. We do respect us in a very healthy way. Also the teams, my team, get along very well with them. I think it's a good harmony.

In the same time there's also the work and all the rest behind, which it's all about balance.

Q. You talked after the US Open final about adding more variety to your game. We've seen changes to your serve. Could you talk about those two areas of your game and how they've evolved since New York.

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, they've evolved in a positive way, of course, especially the serving. From the back of the court, it's been a bit more unpredictable. It worked well, or at least better. I do believe that I have still margins where I can play better at times.

It's also difficult because you have to give a lot of credit to the opponent. Carlos is an incredible player. Hugely talent. It is difficult. It's every point you have to earn in a very right way. You have to push over the limits.

But yeah, I believe the work we have done, it was a very positive work. Of course, if not, you don't reach these results. As I always say, the December is very important for me as a player and as a team because you connect better because you don't have the pressure of the tournament, the rush to go from one side to the other.

It is very important not only because of the work ethic but to connect the whole team even better and understanding each other even better.
