NITTO ATP FINALS

November 10, 2025

Felix Auger-Aliassime

Turin, Italy

Inalpi Arena,Torino

Press Conference

J. SINNER/F. Auger-Aliassime

7-5, 6-1

THE MODERATOR: Felix, must be tough playing Jannik in Turin first match mere. Can you walk us through the match.

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah, he's tough to beat anywhere, especially here. Started off amazing. Never looked back really. From the first point to the last, he was, yeah, amazing today. Toughest guy to beat here.

Yeah, congrats to him.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Straight to the point. How much concerned are you with your calf? Amazing first set, then something clearly happened. Have you ever faced something like this before in your career? Is it something you feel can be dangerous or not?

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: No, not dangerous. I'm not too concerned. He's an amazing player. You have to give credit when the guy is just better than you. Today he was better than me. I'll get ready for the next one.

But no, I'm not too worried. Thank you.

Q. In Paris you told us that Jannik was very good to pressure as early as his first serve and return. I'm not pretending this Jannik is the best server or returner of all time, but do you think maybe he has the best combo as we've ever seen, putting pressure on the first shot of any point?

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: That I've played, yeah. I've never played maybe like Roger in his prime. But yeah, I think for now, because they way you start a match, All right, go ahead, serve. But him, four first serves pretty much on the lines, serving I think like almost 80% first serves in the first set.

Also returning, doesn't really miss second-serve returns. He missed actually a few, which is rare. But yeah, probably the best combination.

Q. You said you're not worried with the calf. Without the medical timeout and the issues, how far could you go in the match today? You were pretty close to Jannik. At the same time I'm wondering if the withdrew last week in Metz was related to the calf or another issue?

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: No, I talked about this week why I withdrew from Metz. Nothing with the calf. Yeah, let's see. I mean, it was a good match. It was a good match until the end.

Like I said in the first answer, I'm not too worried.

Q. Unfortunate situation with the calf.

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Thank you.

Q. I was thinking that you I think are one of the very, very few players that are not afraid to come up and play against Jannik. I think the last few months many players - this is a sensation of mine - but something like they already know that Jannik is going to crush them. I didn't have this feeling with you playing, especially in the first set. When was the last time you were afraid on court or before stepping on court, if you ever were?

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah, to your last sentence, I've never been because, I mean, we're not going to war, you know? Let's have some perspective. Like, I do put in my mind that it's a battle, a tennis battle. I'm very focused, very driven.

Never been afraid of a tennis match. More focused that when you play at this level, everything needs to be very disciplined and very precise from the first moments.

I've been playing him a few times this year, so I knew what to expect. Yeah, it's more like when you play this top level, you have to be extremely good. That's it.
