THE MODERATOR: Lorenzo, bad luck. Can you sum up your performance today and, of course, nothing is lost because you have two more matches to go.
LORENZO MUSETTI: Well, yeah, first of all I have to say that Taylor played really, really well. Of course, huge congrats to him. I think he showed a really great performance. I think the conditions and the way I felt he was playing, he is in a really good shape.
Well, on my side I served pretty well. Then a few maybe not unlucky situations, but some situations which I could have gone up in the score. Immediately afterwards, I got breaked. That was probably the turnaround a little bit of the match and of the first set in particular.
That's it.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Can you tell us how much and if the chase for the qualification was stressful? How do you feel mentally and physically after practically no rest between Athens and Torino?
LORENZO MUSETTI: Of course, it's something that I thought during the match and during, of course, the fact that I was playing immediately after the final in Athens. I knew that, of course, I couldn't be at 100% in shape, especially physically because mentally, of course, I'm really glad that I'm here. I'm real happy and super proud of myself, of my team, of what we achieved.
In a way, I'm super proud also today because with what I had in my body, I think I tried to fight with what I had. I have to say that I felt that Taylor was better than me. If you're going to analyze the match, it's one break, one break in two sets.
Maybe if I had the break in the first few games, which I had the chances with break point, maybe the tiredness will have gone away.
This one we don't know (smiling).
Q. Lorenzo, it looked like you were cramping at one time. You were hitting both legs. Was it a case of maybe stress cramps? Day after tomorrow your playing Demon. You have a really good record on him. What are your thoughts with that one?
LORENZO MUSETTI: No, I was not cramping. I mean, I never had cramps today. Of course, I was feeling pretty heavy in the legs, pretty slow. For example, when I was trying to exit from the serve...
Of course, Taylor was returning really well today. He was giving me a lot of pressure on the rallies from the baseline.
But yeah, I felt physically that I was a little bit slower in everything that I was doing. In terms of reflexes also. In terms of feeling the ball, I was feeling the ball not really well. Of course, he was hitting really hard. That gave me issues.
But regarding the match of tomorrow night, I'm trying my best to recover, to try to analyze what I achieved from today's match. I just played 30 minutes yesterday.
It's never easy to play a match in a completely different condition. It's probably the opposite condition of Athens. In Athens, the ball was, yes, sliding, but it was like sort of grass because the ball was bouncing really, really low, compared to here, which the ball is bouncing higher and the ball seems to fly a little bit more. I felt this big change from the condition.
But hopefully tomorrow I will take that as an advantage.
