Q. Just five pars out there. Describe your day out there.

CONNOR SYME: Mental day. Mental day. I played 14, I was like, I made so many birdies today. It was fun. I hit is so well. I hit it close to a lot of pins, and I actually left a few out there, which sounds a bit daft.

The couple bogeys I made were frustrating. Around that par 5, I made six. It's a really, really weird thing to say.

But obviously delighted with the score. Gets me right bag up the board.

Q. Quite over the first two days, what changed today? Mind mindset? Conditions?

CONNOR SYME: I think more mindset. I think I was just like, I don't know, hit some putts, or looking into putts and being like, it's tricky trying to over-read them and stuff like that. I was trying to imagine, what if I was playing with my mate at home? I know the scenario is a lot different but I was like, what process would I do? Because I play quite fast and sometimes I feel like I get bumped out in tournaments. It was nice to play a bit freer, and obviously it worked.
