Q. Here with Somi Lee after the first round at the Maybank Championship. A really solid 6-under bogey-free round from you. What worked so well?

SOMI LEE: (Through translation.) First, my tee shot was a little bit in the elevator, so then I field goaled out I should focus on the process, not shot.

As time went by, as I went three holes I felt that I was focusing on my play and that worked well today.

Q. Heat is obviously a big factor this week. How are you able to conserve energy as the rounds go on and hopefully by Sunday be fresh?

SOMI LEE: (Through translation.) First of all, and obviously, drink a lot the water and put the sun umbrella on whenever I can. I have a special item I picked up in Hawai'i. It's a portable fan, and that helps a lot.

Q. How does this course suit your game?

SOMI LEE: (Through translation.) First about the course fitting me, it's not the course fitting. It's about the course. The course is great and the greens are amazing.

And then special thing about the greens is it just works as -- it depends on how much I focus and how much I practice. It just performs on the green, so I think that's the most important factor.
