Quick Quotes
Q. 68 today, your thoughts on that round?
NACHO ELVIRA: All positive. I didn't hit it as well as maybe I wanted off the tee but still managed to hit it pretty decent. I'm extremely happy. I think I'm hitting my irons well, and my lag putting is very good this week.
Q. Has the tee ball been bugging you a little bit this week leading into the event?
NACHO ELVIRA: Yeah, definitely. I mean, the ball wasn't going anywhere where I wanted. It's working the last couple weeks. I found something, and hopefully I can keep building on it and working on it.
Q. Is it something you're actively working on this week that you're trying to improve on the whole time?
NACHO ELVIRA: It's something I'm trying to improve all the time. The last a couple weeks, I found something that seems to be working a little better. At least it's getting me a little more confident off the tee, and hopefully I can keep building on it and hitting good drives.
Q. You must be incredibly pleased with not all aspects of your game firing that you're still able to put together round like these.
NACHO ELVIRA: Golf, sometimes it feels like everything is on point and you're shooting over par. If everything is working together, I think all the parts of my game are pretty close to being very good.
Q. How close was it on 17?
NACHO ELVIRA: It was very close. It landed to about six inches off the hole and I didn't even make a birdie. But it's golf. I'm happy, like I said, the way I'm hitting it. If I can keep putting myself in good positions towards the weekend, hopefully have a good week.
Q. It's an important part of season. Does that make this take on extra significance for you the way you've gone about things so far?
NACHO ELVIRA: To be fair, I've been going with the same intensity the whole year. It's golf and I've been very busy outside of the golf course this year. You know, it click when is it wants to click. I wish it could click everywhere for me, but it just doesn't and hopefully it can click this week and the next.
