ABU DHABI HSBC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

November 5, 2025

Tyrrell Hatton

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Yas Links

Press Conference

CLARE BODEL: All right. We'll get started then. A long day in the Pro-Am, Tyrrell, so let's get straight into it. You started here in Dubai at the start of the year, a great win in the Middle East. Back here again at the end of the season. How much does it mean to bring it full circle and have more success over here.

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, it's nice to be back here. I've played well in this tournament in the past. So it would be nice to finish the season strong, and I think my best finish on The Race to Dubai is fourth in the ten, 12 seasons I've played. So it would be nice to improve on that.

CLARE BODEL: You've won here before at this tournament, difference course. How much has this event meant to you on the DP World Tour.

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, it's always a special event. I think it's one of those events on tour that is one of the iconic events, and it's special for me that I've been able to win it in the past. Although as you say, it was on a different golf course. It still brings good feelings.

Q. Since you have won on the previous course which you might have memories of, which you give your first impressions of this course and how it should play to your strengths?

TYRRELL HATTON: Well, yes, this course is very different. I mean, the condition of it has always been amazing every year that we've come here and played. It does get pretty windy, so you have to control your ball pretty well. The greens do have some pretty severe slopes on them, too. It can be easy to miss it in the wrong spots, and then it's hard to save par. But generally, the scoring, off the top of my head, it's been pretty -- still been pretty good around here.

So you have to shoot some decent numbers, and hopefully I'll be able to do that.

Q. Congratulations on your season, to be third in The Race to Dubai is remarkable considering your flexible schedule. Any comment on the four rounds of LIV? When did you know? Rory was asked the same question. Have you any thoughts on that?

TYRRELL HATTON: I think it's a good thing that LIV have moved to four rounds. I know at the end of my first season, there was a questionnaire that was filled out, and one of the questions was about moving to 72 holes, and I think of everyone that filled it out, I think there was only three guys initially that had said about moving there. I guess that's changed quite a bit in the last year, and certainly from my standpoint, I'm quite happy that we've moved to 72 holes.

Q. End of a long season and a lot of travel, are you still energised with the next two weeks ahead?

TYRRELL HATTON: Sitting here right now, I wouldn't say I'm energised. But I think that the jet-lag is pretty tough.

But I think it's also quite hard coming off Ryder Cup. There's such a billing buildup to that week. You hope you're a part of it. Thankfully this year it was. Yeah, it is a bit of a come down afterwards. I've enjoyed the last four weeks I've had off. Definitely need that time. I think this week will be my 25th tournament of year, and playing Dubai next week and then Saudi the week after, so that will take me to 27. So it's been busy. Hopefully I can finish the season strong, and hopefully it's been another good year.

CLARE BODEL: Thank you so much for your time. Thank you, earn.
