THE MODERATOR: Congrats, Sascha. German hopes still alive.
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Yep.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please, for Sascha.
Q. You were very honest a couple days ago in your assessment towards Francisco Cerundolo. Today you faced one of the most improved players this year. How could you assess Jaume's game and his improvement throughout this whole year?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Yeah, he improved a lot. The one shot that he improved the most for me is the serve. I played him last year at the French Open. I remember he was most of the time only kicking it, trying to start the rally. Today he served I think seven aces. That shot improved a lot.
From the baseline, yeah, he doesn't do many mistakes. He's very fast, runs very well. I think this year showed he had the best year on tour. It's great to see the improvement he did.
Q. What about yourself about today, Sascha? Munar was saying one of the big factors that he found was your serve working when you really needed it to work. Do you agree?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Yeah, I didn't play my best today. I thought the first match was better. But I won. We're in the Davis Cup. It doesn't matter how you win, as long as you get the point for your team. We're still in this, even though the doubles are not going our way at the moment. But that can change.
A win is a win. For us the most important thing is to win the doubles now.
