Quick Quotes
Q. So Gen, pretty rough start but strong finish.
GENEVIEVE LING: Yes. Yeah, made -- actually didn't really hit a bad shot, but just got into a really bad spot on 13 and made a double there.
Then I mean, kind of just paced myself and knew that there was a lot of holes left to play and you have to play one shot at a time.
Q. Tough finish.
GENEVIEVE LING: Yeah, actually missed one on 9 as well. Yeah, I started hitting the ball a lot better towards the back. Jeremiah and I worked some things out yesterday with setup. As for most of us it's usually something simple.
Yeah, started getting a better feel and made some birdies.
Q. What are your main take backs from this week?
GENEVIEVE LING: Just that I think my short game is definitely there. Ball striking, unfortunately that wasn't great, which is unfortunate because I think it would've been really nice to attack some of those pins if I was confident enough to hit those shots, but I wasn't, especially the second and third day.
So, yeah.
Q. And I understand you've been working on your distance.
GENEVIEVE LING: Yeah, my ball striking was not good, so it didn't really come to my advantage this week. But definitely worked on my scrambling as well and that helped me a lot this week.
Q. Where will you take off to after this?
GENEVIEVE LING: I'm going to Taiwan tomorrow for another tournament, yeah.
Q. What event is that?
GENEVIEVE LING: The Ladies Open.
Q. On the China...
GENEVIEVE LING: Yeah.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
GENEVIEVE LING: Yes, this year a lot of Taiwan LPGA events, tournaments, there are actually getting really good. They have got quite big purses as well, so good competition and I've grown quite a lot playing there.
Q. Have you given thought to next year, your plans?
GENEVIEVE LING: I'm going to LPGA school end of the year, so hopefully back to Europe next year.
Q. What do you think is the biggest thing you learned from this competition?
GENEVIEVE LING: I think I said this yesterday, but I actually I love playing in front of crowds. I never knew if I did or not. Obviously I hoped that I did, but I love putting on a bit of a show. Like I think I always do pretty well on 18 and like 14. I kind of enjoy doing that, which is nice to know, especially for this profession.
Q. I see your dad here today. Did he say anything after you finished your round today after?
GENEVIEVE LING: My parents are super chill. Just proud of you. Good job.
Q. I think I saw you on the 28th hole and you did a birdie there.
GENEVIEVE LING: Yeah.
Q. It was quite a show for you with all the crowd cheering.
GENEVIEVE LING: I did that as well on one of the other days. I don't know, I really like doing things like that. So my caddie actually was like, every time we got into a bad spot, you like to show off? Let's show off. We got some good up and downs and stuff like that. It was cool.
Q. So maybe how can you sum up your performance?
GENEVIEVE LING: Obviously I wish the scoring was better, especially the second and third day. I feel like I lost my swing a little bit out there, but I'm proud of myself for sticking to it. I think there were some time where the ball striking was really out, like really out, but I really just stayed patient and trusted myself and went through the whole process.
Q. Maybe something you learned?
GENEVIEVE LING: That I learned? I think just keep doing what I been doing and grow from it.
