Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Nelly Korda. Another great round today in the third round of the CME Group Tour Championship. Can you just touch a little bit on how you felt like you played out there today. Putts looked awesome again.
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, definitely felt like I played solid. Hit it really great off the tee into the greens and capitalized on some of the putts.
There are definitely a few I left out there, but that's golf. They're all very close, burning edges, so that means I'm hitting it where I want to.
Q. Do you feel like were able to be aggressive out there today, especially the four birdies in the last five or six holes?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, for sure. I would say it just depends on the weather, pin placements, how well you hit it off the tee.
If you put yourself in a position where you can be aggressive usually that's kind of the green light for me.
Q. Making obviously your 9th appearance here, how different is this course playing without the wind?
NELLY KORDA: Very. Yesterday Jason was talking about on 9 he was like, rarely do I ever toss up some grass. I'm like, there is no wind at all, which is just very unusual; very unusual for Florida where we always have like that 10 to 15 mile an hour wind.
But you can kind of see with the score. They're super low. The golf course is gettable. You're able to be a little bit more aggressive.
Q. For you, how do you put the pedal down in your last few holes like did you today? Is there a mental shift that happens there?
NELLY KORDA: No, I just focus in on what exactly I'm doing at that moment. Everything is about placing yourself in the right spot and having the correct iron to like -- there has been so many times where I've been hitting it so good off the tee and all day I'm kind of like in between with clubs. Like I just never have that perfect number where like you think that you hit it perfect and because you're taking a little bit off of it and you hit it in with a little bit of a lower trajectory it just kind of shoots on you.
So it's also about like having the right numbers in and making sure you can be aggressive.
Q. I know you probably haven't checked your phone yet, but LeBron posted another highlight on his Instagram story today. Can you just speak to how mind blowing it is for you?
NELLY KORDA: He loves golf and I love that he loves golf. I love how golf and sports brings so many people together, so it's fun to see. And hopefully one day we hit the links together.
Q. Have you ever met him?
NELLY KORDA: No, I've never met him. Yeah, but I did tell him we should hit the links.
Q. Is there a point tomorrow where you have to put the pedal down and maybe change the process a little bit?
NELLY KORDA: No, because I feel like when you start to push a little harder sometimes the mistakes do start to creep in a little bit. You just have to be focused on your process and yourself.
If it happens, it happens. You know, just know that you are out there competing hard and you're trying to win, but you also have to not get too ahead of yourself and play the game. Because if you start to get a little too ahead of yourself and push a little too hard those mistakes do start to creep in and it's not going to be beneficial.
Q. One round left of the season for you. What are you going to think, remember about the 2025 season when you look back on it in six months, a year?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, that it just blew by honestly. I played really great golf. Played some iffy golf. Think that's every year you kind of do that.
But I'm just grateful for the people around me. Yeah. Thank you.
