September 17, 2025

Dawn Woodard

Hot Springs, Virginia, USA

The Omni Homestead Resort

Quick Quotes

Q. Great job today. You're in the final. Tell me about today. I know it was a long day of golf. How are you feeling?

DAWN WOODARD: Long day of golf. I mean, this morning I was -- I mean, it was just both matches. Both players were -- Stephani played awesome this morning. Then this afternoon, Shelly played -- I could tell we were both getting a little tired this afternoon. We both -- but just kind of gave a few away back and forth, and every time I could get close, feel like I shot myself in the foot somewhere.

But just, you know, it's just a grind at this point. It's such a great golf course and you know you're going to have some opportunities there if it you can just keep giving yourself chances.

Yeah, I mean, I hit couple -- I mean, there are a couple shots on the back that I hit that I mean, Sissy and I were joking, she was caddieing for me. I'm like, we're going to be talking about those in the nursing home one day. I just couldn't hit them again if I tried.

But just for it to come down to 18 and hit a good shot in and obviously Shelly is a great champion and was never giving up -- either one of us -- but very thankful, just very grateful that we're done for today.

I mean, just a long day starting in the dark this morning.

Q. Yeah.

DAWN WOODARD: But also a lot of fun, you know.

Q. Tell me how the course played today. Sprinkled on you guys for a little bit. How was the course playing?

DAWN WOODARD: It's just such a great golf course, especially for match play. It really gives you some opportunities if you're in the right place, but it just reaches out and grabs you every now and then. It's like, oops. You didn't put that where you were supposed to.

But, I mean, I just literally feel like it was just one shot, one shot, over and over and over today until we finally finished.

I mean, even the 18-inch, 24-inch putt I had on the last hole, I mean, there is not a gimme out here. I was a little above the hole. You can't rest for one second.

Q. What's the game plan as you head into tomorrow?

DAWN WOODARD: I don't know other than just keep doing what I've been doing. All I can do is give myself chances. Everybody is good. We're all going to have good things and bad things. At this point it's just give myself some opportunities.

Q. What would winning a USGA title mean to you?

DAWN WOODARD: Same thing it would mean to anyone. At this point though, having the opportunity, you just got to go out there and do what you can do. I mean, played in a lot of these and this is what we all want.
