THE MODERATOR: We'll start with questions for Spain.

Q. David, how were your nerves, especially in the doubles? Have you got fingernails left?

CAPTAIN DAVID FERRER: Well, of course I'm nervous when tie is very close. Against Czech, they are good team, doubles, singles as well.

I'm very proud of my players. They compete two singles and the doubles. They play really good. Yeah, happy for them because now we are in semifinal. Now it's time to enjoy tonight, and tomorrow we'll see against who we're going to play.

Q. Can you talk a bit about the spirit and the resilience of your team. You've had two comeback victories, in the qualifier and now here. How come you're able to play such good tennis when you're down?

CAPTAIN DAVID FERRER: Well, of course for us to be in the Finals, it's a gift. We had match point down on Pedro. He was a hero in Marbella. Now again. He's Davis Cup player. He compete really good.

Well, I knew that today was a tough tie. I think everyone, we knew that. Nothing else. Pablo at the end, he compete all the match. Bad luck. In the end, Jakub Mensik deserve to win.

In the second match, Jaume, he served really good. He plays one of his, my opinion, best matches on tour, on indoor court.

The doubles, of course, with Marcel and Pedro, in my opinion I have the best doubles player in the world. Is easier to me because at the end he's the leader of the team. In the important moments, he know what he has to do. He was very brave in important points at the end of the set.

Yeah, I'm really happy for Marcel, and of course for Pedro, too, to live these moments.

Q. When you decided to put Carreno Busta in singles, it was because you wanted to have Martinez in doubles with him or if there was another reason? To Granollers, we had two ties before with no doubles. When you are in this situation in Davis Cup, of course you hope that your team will win, maybe you don't need to play doubles, but how frustrating is it to make a trip, come with the team, and maybe not even have to play? Would you like the format of this Davis Cup to change?

CAPTAIN DAVID FERRER: No, I decide to put Pablo Carreno because I trust to him to play singles. That's it. At the end my doubles is Pablo and Pedro. They know each other, yeah.

MARCEL GRANOLLERS: As a doubles player, I know the format. I know that I can come here and not play. But we always hope that we can win both singles because is the best for the team.

But here we are for anything that the team needs. Today was 1-1. Pedro and myself, we try to help the team with a win.

It was a very tough match, but I mean we are really happy to help the team today.

Q. Marcel and Pedro, you're the doubles specialists on the court in that match. Can you comment on the importance of you being in that sort of a position as a doubles specialist? Pedro, what did it feel like on the double-fault on match point?

MARCEL GRANOLLERS: I mean, it's important for me now that I'm playing doubles, so I feel more comfortable playing doubles, of course, because now I only practice specific things for doubles, more than before when I was playing singles.

I mean, with Pedro, we played few matches in Davis Cup already that we played in a good level. Pedro also play during the year in the ATP Tour doing great results. He's already doubles player also. I think we have good chemistry. We know each other. We know how we can play good. Yeah, we fight hard. We try our best always.

PEDRO MARTINEZ: For me, thanks Jakub for the double-fault. What can I say? In that moment, you just pray to make a double-fault because we didn't want to hit the return.

Of course, on that moment it's a big gift, a double-fault (smiling).

Q. David, you said I saw the light, referring to your team. I'm asking you if there is something maybe we didn't see, something about the chemistry, the tactics, that you saw that we didn't see? Are you going to watch some of the other semifinal now or rest?

CAPTAIN DAVID FERRER: At the end is because I have amazing tennis players. That's the most important. Of course, the feeling of the team, it's really good. That's a good point to have chance to win Davis Cup.

Well, now I will watch Argentina/Germany, but in TV because I'm really tired. I was really nervous. Three matches in a row, it's not easy to be on the chair. Sometimes I prefer to be on the court. But now much better to be on the chair, yeah (smiling).
