Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche, France

Le Golf National

Quick Quotes

Q. Welcome back to this historic event. What does it mean to be back here, given what you achieved last year?

DAN BRADBURY: Yeah, I mean, it feels really cool. Obviously we're at a different venue this year. So this does feel a little bit different but saw my picture on the last. We played the back nine this morning. That's pretty cool. It brings back a few memories.

Q. How special is that seeing your face everywhere where you won this event last year?

DAN BRADBURY: It's nice. The trophy looked pretty cool there, and like I say, it's just the memories of everything, really. To be associated with such a cool event is really, really nice.

Q. Take us back to last year. What are the main sort of memories that Celtic Manor when you think about that back nine on Sunday.

DAN BRADBURY: Just how tight it was. I remember looking at the leaderboard at one point and being like one shot between the top and the bottom of the firm and thinking, right, okay, need to do something here.

So yeah, I remember that, and then I remember sitting in recording after I was finished thinking -- watching, I think it was Sam and Thorbjørn play the last hole, just hoping.

But yeah, and then I don't remember much after that.

Q. Let's look at your season as a whole, your 2025 season. A little bit up-and-down but some good stuff in there as well. How would you assess your 2025 Race to Dubai so far?

DAN BRADBURY: It's not been great if I'm being honest. Yeah, obviously a great way to finish last year, and actually finished quite strong after this event, as well. But yeah, I haven't got off to a good -- I say start, but we're nearly done, aren't we. Haven't had a great season. A few good results. Game's felt bad and then I scored and I've shown. So even last week, like I had two great rounds but just didn't put four together. Hopefully we will this week.

Q. What are the sort of main things that you're working on at the moment to try to get that momentum and that form back into your game?

DAN BRADBURY: Made a few changes with putting and stuff, and put a lot of work into that. That seems to be going better. Putted better the last few weeks. Just a lot of -- put a lot of structures in place this year. Trying not to be as reactive and prying to be a bit more proactive with how I practise and what I do, and I've got rewards of that in certain areas, and not in others. So we'll see. I'll probably see how this season finishes, give myself a break. It feels like it's been a long season to be honest.

So yeah, see how this season finishes and then see what we can do over the winter.

Q. Let's have a look at this week. Very different test at Le Golf National. You just played the back nine. What are your first impressions of this golf course?

DAN BRADBURY: It's great. It actually reminds me a little bit of Headfort in Joburg where I won my first investment. It's a little bit shorter, a little bit more tree-lined. Smaller, trickier greens. Obviously less water. It's nice out there. There's a lot of well-framed holes, especially that back nine. You're kind of hitting down alleys. It looks really, really nice and it's in good condition. The greens are good. So yeah, we'll see. Probably be low scoring.

Q. And a par 3 to finish, quite unusual?

DAN BRADBURY: It is. It's a good one, as well. We were just saying, I heard a story about someone laid up on it, if they had a two-shot lead, and I can see why.

Yeah, that left bunker is not ideal. It's not a wide green at all. From the top of the hill with that crosswind, it will be a good finish.
