TPC River’s Bend
Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Maja Stark after her second round to the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. A lot of birdies on the card both rounds. What's been kind of the key to those?
MAJA STARK: Started hitting way better iron shots. I think -- well, I guess I did miss a lot of greens yesterday, but my putting has been really good.
Yeah, I think I didn't get ahead of myself either.
Q. What do you make of TPC River's Bend and how does this course suit your game?
MAJA STARK: It's very varied, so it's a fun course because no hole is the same. And then I guess there has been a lot of pins where you got to come in with some spin, and I think that I've got that right now since I started to hit my irons better.
Q. Only 52 putts through 36 holes; 25 today. Is that you're holing them, approach shots been really, really well? What's been working in that aspect?
MAJA STARK: I think it's a little bit of both. I'm holing way more putts than I'm used to. I feel like I see the lines a lot better than I have recently, so...
Q. And then really bunched up leaderboard heading into the weekend. What's it going to take to pull out a victory?
MAJA STARK: I think just staying patient and enjoying the crazy race that it's going to be. I mean, yeah, as you said, it's stacked, and, yeah, just know that anything can happen. It's a pretty tough course if you don't have your A-game, so anything can happen.
Q. And last one. John Pond on the bag. You and Lauren are really close. How nice is it to have a friend and someone who also caddies regularly on our Tour out there while walking the course?
MAJA STARK: Yeah, we just started. It's really nice to just feel like I can be myself and I can tell him to go away when I need him to. He can help me when I need that. So it's been really nice.
