Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Jeeno after the second round of the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G.
8 under 64; bogey-free. What was going right out there today?
JEENO THITIKUL: I don't know. (Smiling.)
To be honest, I was like wasn't confident with the tee shot that much. I mean, the driver. Still working on some swing thought.
But I think today on the back nine just rolling really well. I think I make the putts more than the front nine.
Q. And you mentioned weren't really confident with the driver and still hit 13 out of 14 fairways. Was driver in play all day or were you hitting different clubs off the tee?
JEENO THITIKUL: I think pretty much hitting 3-woods. I'm not meant to be hit 3-woods because I can't hit my driver, but the yardage -- I mean, the course playing like I'm not be able to hit driver that much, which is better.
But, yeah, obviously I still have things to work on.
Q. Is it nice being able to put up a 64 despite maybe not having the driver on right now?
JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, sure. I just surprised. I was so surprised to be honest. But maybe because, you know, when you're not like that much confident you're not expecting things to be, you know, that good, which mean kind of free and then whatever -- because I know if it's not good I'll just like -- I know how it's going to be.
Q. You obviously are no stranger to shooting low numbers. You got an a stretch there, four birdies in a row. When you're on those streaks, what's going through your head?
JEENO THITIKUL: Nothing. Pretty much I think I trying to make putts for sure here. I mean, like the green, it's not easy. It's so slopey. And then you need to judge the putt really perfectly to roll it in the hole.
And then that four like stretch on the birdies that I have, it's par-5 -- no. It start from 13, right? So I hit pretty good shots on 13 and 15; hit it like two inches, which is like maybe like two free birdies. Otherwise other two I just make putts.
Q. Obviously you like this golf course. Finished second here last year. What is it about this property that suits your game?
JEENO THITIKUL: I think the reachable par-4 -- no, 5, sorry. We have some I think two or three par-5 that can you be, you know, like aggressive on the second shots and then you could be, you know, around the green.
So I think it's really help my game.
Q. It felt like Sei Young, who you were playing with, got off to a hot start early and you guys traded and you got things going on the back side. What was it like playing alongside her with you both playing so well?
JEENO THITIKUL: I think she is really incredible player. I mean, like her just her feeling-wise, I think her -- she has a lot of imagination and creativity like how she going to play the shots, and then I be able to learn that from a last week as well. I play in the final round with her in FM.
Obviously she has a really good start yesterday and today as well. I mean, like it's good to have a good rhythm on other player playing good, a good rhythm in your group. Then it's just like motivate you to play better.
Q. You mentioned not having a lot of confidence with your driver. How long has that been going on?
JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, I know. I think it's since like Canada, FM. It wasn't that bad but just not a hundy percent.
Q. What has changed that you feel this way now?
JEENO THITIKUL: I just try to change it to be more shallower, downswing, because I had too many attack angle. In AIG I hit the ball and like ball flying all the way, and in the middle of AIG. I mean, I just survive on that week and I trying to, you know, like had a little some swing change on the downswing, but wasn't that big change. Just like need to get used to it, I guess.
