Quick Quotes
Q. Your thoughts on that performance?
PABLO LARRAZテ。AL: Well, yeah, I played the last two days, probably the best golf of the year. I've been working as hard as I have ever done, and the results are coming. I played great tee-to-green, patient, and today I played very, very good. Very, very good putts in the middle of the round. I couldn't make many.
And then I finished very strong, and I am happy to be back, surrounding at the top of the leaderboard. It's been a while. It's been probably nine months since I'm not in this position. But I know how it is. This is my 18th season, and I've been up there a couple times.
Q. You mentioned you've been working hard on your game. Is there anything that's clicked for you this week in particular or something that you felt trending?
PABLO LARRAZテ。AL: Well, you know, trying to do what you're doing on the range, take it back to the golf course, it's been very, very tough to putt it out there and to believe that I believe hit those tee shots.
You know, it clicked. I've been hitting the ball nicely from the tee, and this is a golf course that if you're hitting it -- you don't have to be long on this golf course. You have to be straight. These are the golf courses that are made for a player like me.
Q. What have you found over the first two days?
PABLO LARRAZテ。AL: I tell you, I found what I've been working on on the range. You know, sometimes it's tough to do the same swing on the range than when it matters on the golf course but you know, when you picture a shot and it comes exactly the same way as you plan it, it gives you confidence. I mean, the second shot coming to 18, you know, is a 10 out of 10 shots, and I hit a lot of 10 out of 10 shots yesterday and today.
When you start like that, it builds something. Obviously my short game is back where it should be. I chip-in a couple times already. But you know, as a Spaniard, it's normal. But you know, I'm ready for a sound week of golf.
Q. How patient have you had to be in this time when your game is not at the level where you want it to be?
PABLO LARRAZテ。AL: You can't imagine. Patience is key. I'm getting old, and you learn, obviously, working all but still working with a psychologist. I did a lot of that work today when -- obviously I have experience, but that doesn't mean that I don't have nerves out there, and I had them today.
It really helped me to stay patient and to hit the shots I was planning.
Q. More of the same over the weekend?
PABLO LARRAZテ。AL: Well, you know, it's fun when you suddenly have a lot of the best players in the world playing this tournament, playing The European Tour. I'm ready. I know how they play and I know with my A Game, I can beat them. It's going to be fun.
