KROGER QUEEN CITY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY P&G

September 11, 2025

Sei Young Kim

Maineville, Ohio, USA

TPC River’s Bend

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Sei Young after the first round of the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. 6-under 66. Talk about your round today.

SEI YOUNG KIM: Yeah, greens are pretty firmer but it's just softer than I thought, so, yeah, which means it makes a lot of birdie chance.

So I made a good birdies from the green, especially second shot is very steady today. And then I mistake some of the par-5, hole 6, I miss a layup. Too aggressive layup.

Except that I played quite solid today. Play with, yeah, No. 1 ranking. Yeah, it's good.

Q. Talk about the front nine today, which was your back nine. Only two pars but a lot of birdies. What was going on on that front nine?

SEI YOUNG KIM: Yeah, the fairways are drier, so that makes drive distance longer. So I just got to the pins 120 meters. I like the number so I have a lot of chance of birdie from there.

So and then hole 17 I got the 165 to the pin which is really short, even par-5, so I made a birdie. Almost eagle but made a birdie.

Yeah, I played quite solid, especially back nine, yeah.

Q. You mentioned the fairways firming up. Are the greens firming up as well?

SEI YOUNG KIM: I don't know. We'll see tomorrow morning. I hopefully not as much as when I practice round. Yeah, I don't know. We'll see tomorrow, yeah.
