KROGER QUEEN CITY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY P&G

September 11, 2025

Peiyun Chien

Maineville, Ohio, USA

TPC River’s Bend

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Money after her first round at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G. 6-under 66. Just talk a little bit about your day today.

PEIYUN CHIEN: I hit a lot of great shot here and my iron is pretty good and I hole a lot of the putt today, so score is pretty low.

The course is -- the green is pretty soft so I just go for it with my iron every single shot.

Q. Talk about the putting a little bit. Only 26 putts. What was going right on the greens?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Actually I putted so well in Sunday for the speed putt and I just think about my speed and start target. I didn't think about the result because I always think too much.

So I try to do less today.

Q. You really caught fire there at the turn: four birdies in a five-hole stretch. What seemed to come together in those holes?

PEIYUN CHIEN: I didn't think too much. I just hit it and go for it. But I do listen to my caddie more this time.

Q. What did the caddie say?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Caddie say miss left side, just miss left side. Normally I have a lot of shot in my head and try to do fancy shot.

This time just, yeah, just be a good student.

Q. After struggling in your last start in Boston, what did you work on coming into this week?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Actually it's my tempo in the tournament because I always in rush and I don't know, like try to want to hit the ball as fast as I can.

I don't know why, but, yeah, just maybe it's nervous because I don't have good start this year. So this is my last chance to get in Asia tour, so I have to finish well this week.

Q. How long have you been feeling like you've been playing with that sort of pressure on your shoulders?

PEIYUN CHIEN: I think every day always the pressure. Like I'm very easy to get nervous, but I try to control my breathe more.

I think it really help.

Q. How well do you feel like you were able to slow down and take your time out there today?

PEIYUN CHIEN: I talk to my caddie more, like really commit what we want, the target, the wind, the shot we want. Yeah, I did very well.
