Q. Brilliant 66 out there this morning. Give us an evaluation of your day.

DANIEL HILLIER: That was nice. It's been a while since I've been able to go that low. Yeah, this game's funny. I didn't feel like my game's been that far away, but I've been coming off the back of four missed cuts at the moment. It was good this came together.

Feeling pretty good with where everything's at. Hope I can keep it going.

Q. You said you haven't made a cut since June. Tell us what aspect of your game have maybe improved over the last month or so.

DANIEL HILLIER: I'd say my putting has been a little streakier. That's helped a little bit over the last couple of months. Oddly enough, my ball striking hasn't been up to scratch. That's usually the strength of my game, and that's just made things a little harder for me.

Like I said, it didn't really feel that far away. I knew it was close, but the drops just wouldn't come. Just have to stay patient and did that today and wound up with a good one.

Q. You were 12th two years ago when you were here at The K Club. Is there something about this course that really suits your eye?

DANIEL HILLIER: Yeah, I guess so. Definitely a ball striker's course. There's a premium for landing it in the fairway. Thankfully I've been driving it halfway decent this week. If you hit it in the fairway, you've got a few chances. The par-5s can be gettable with this wind as well. So I've made the most of those. Had a couple of eagles out there, which has been nice. Played solid for the rest.

Very similar to most of the courses we play back home actually in New Zealand. Very tight par style. Maybe that's helped a little as well.
