AMGEN IRISH OPEN

September 4, 2025

Thorbjorn Olesen

Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland

The K Club

Quick Quotes

Q. 66 to start your week here at the Amgen Irish Open and what a back nine you had today.

THORBJORN OLESEN: Yeah. I had some really good breaks out there. I holed two chip shots on the back nine, holed a couple of good putts also. I didn't feel like my game was that great actually, but around the turn it definitely got better and I hit some good shots coming in.

But yeah, I had some good breaks also today.

Q. Just the one error on the third hole.

THORBJORN OLESEN: Yeah, it's a full duffed 5-iron straight in the water. Like I said, I didn't feel that good on the front nine and then it turned a little bit on the back. I had my luck with me also today, which is nice.

Q. Second chip-in was on 17. Did it feel like a birdie?

THORBJORN OLESEN: No, it was probably closer to a bogey than a birdie, but yeah, great flop shot and obviously a good break that it goes in. Very pleased with that.

Q. You've had a couple of weeks off on the back of your home national championship, which I feel like gives every player a little bit of a bump after that.

THORBJORN OLESEN: Yeah, I feel like I had a tough five months, played a lot of golf. So it was nice to have what I needed, to have two weeks off before this and just get home and spend some time with the family, and like you said, recharge a little bit.

I felt like I really needed that, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.
