Q. Lovely to see you. A great start to your account here at the Amgen Irish Open. Tell us how you found it out there today.
BERND WEISBERGER: Yeah, was nice being first out. Obviously fresh golf course for us. Yeah, pretty calm conditions for most of the day. Obviously greens were nice, rolling nicely. Couple of tucked pins still out there. Especially with the soft greens it's tough to get to the back pins.
But felt like I especially rolled the ball really nicely on the greens today, you know, holed a lot of footage of putts.
Yeah, quite happy with that start to a tournament.
Q. Course held up well given how much rain it's had in the last 24 hours. Greens are still very receptive and smooth in most areas.
BERND WEISBERGER: Yeah, last time I was here I think this 2016, so I don't really remember how was it back then. Obviously we had a bit of rain coming in yesterday morning before the pro-am, overnight, and, you know, I guess it's loaded up on the water now.
So hopefully will stay dry for the rest of the week, but they're doing a good job. They know what they're doing out here. They've had plenty of tournament golf out here to know how the course reacts to stuff like that.
Obviously played nicely. Obviously in the morning with the dew, the rough is to be left alone; view juicy out there. But I did have my game under control for most of the day. As I said, I holed quite a lot of nice putts, which was good. Took my chances, obviously woof loved to maybe grab one of the we two par-5s coming in.
All in all, solid round.
Q. A word golfers use a lot when they're trying to get back to some of the highs of their game -- and we are very aware of what you can do on the golf course -- is patience. Frustrating word to use. But you have had a lot of patience and we're starting to see you trending in the right direction. What parts of your game are you happy that are moving so well at the moment?
BERND WEISBERGER: Yeah, I mean, I think all aspects are really there. Just need to click on the golf course. You know, certainly today lots of the aspects of my game, especially putting, clicked nicely. Get to have a couple more days and a couple more days during a tournament week. But, yeah, all in all, obviously I feel like I can still be competitive out here.
I do need to be patient because the last couple months I have not been as I wished they would've been. But, you know, as you said, I know I can still compete out here. Take it day by day and ready to take my chances when I get them.
